Without realizing it, we find ourselves in a highly polluted environment. All around us, fields are created by currents flowing through conductive paths, by signals from radio stations, cell phones, WiFi and other communication networks. Electromagnetic interference is not visible to us, it is just there. Any device that consumes energy causes fluctuations in the network in the form of spikes or surges, or causes a change in the electromagnetic fields in the air.

The effects occur in the vicinity of the device itself and in its power grid, but even far away from the device the fields are still measurable. This can only be measured with suitable equipment, not with the ear.

The popular opinion is that shielded power cords better protect the connected equipment from outside influences, which is true. However, it is much more important that the field generated by the fluctuating current in the power cord itself does not hit interlinks and speaker cables. Interlinks carry small signals to audio equipment with a high input impedance. This high input resistance makes the devices extremely sensitive to interference.

Many power cords for audio purposes look nice, just like ours. But looks aren't everything!
Current Conductors are double shielded cables. The outer shield is NOT a steel braid (a steel shield does not act as a shield, but is designed to protect the cable from physical force). Instead, Current Conductor cables have a braided high-density COPPER shield with a tin layer that prevents oxidation. Underneath the tinned copper shield is a 100% sealed aluminum foil for high frequency suppression. Unlike a synthetic foil, this solution works!

The OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) strands are suitable to conduct high currents without ohmic losses (energy losses in the form of heat). The ground wire is connected on both sides, the shield is connected only on the supply side, as it is intended.

The connectors provide high contact pressure and excellent contact area, resulting in optimal conductivity. Finally, we gave the connector a nice CNC machined hood.

Where should you use the cable?

If we have our way, everywhere! The greatest effect is achieved when all power cables from consumers are replaced. The external fields will then be much lower, reach acceptable levels and cause less interference.
Power cords near connecting lines are even more important. They should be replaced, especially if the signal transport is unbalanced (with RCA/phono plugs). When power cables are wired in parallel with signal cables, or when a signal cable is coming from or going to a phono stage, it is strongly recommended to use power conductor cables.
Since the total resistance is linearly proportional to the cable length, the low resistance of our Current Conductor cables can be used to your advantage even over long distances.

What you can expect

The results of experimenting with our Current Conductor power cables can range from small changes to big surprises. The most commonly heard improvement is quietness in quiet musical passages, as well as more discernible detail and a more holographic soundstage.
A high-quality recording with average low volume and high dynamics benefits the most from reduced background noise. This background is mostly described by our users as "dark" and "deep".
