Flattening records – Vinyl Flat Service
Warped LPs make the tonearm bob up and down, alter tracking force and vertical tracking angle and thus reduce sound quality. With a controlled flattening process, we bring warped records back into shape – with a regulated temperature curve and without overstressing the material.

We clean your records by machine using professional record cleaning machines. They are then dried, treated anti-statically and visually inspected.
Which records benefit from professional cleaning?
Especially second-hand records, much-played collector’s items and records with crackle or dust deposits. New records benefit too, as they often carry residues from the pressing plant.
Can every warped record be flattened?
Many slightly to moderately warped records can be flattened well. With very severe warps, breaks or shellac records, the possibilities are limited. We check your records beforehand and give you honest advice.
Is flattening harmful to the record?
No, not when carried out professionally. Our process works with a regulated temperature curve that treats the material gently and does not damage the groove.
Can I bring or send in my own cartridge?
Yes. We also mount and align cartridges you already own – on the headshell or directly on your tonearm. Please contact us beforehand so we can arrange everything necessary.
What is adjusted during cartridge alignment?
We set overhang and offset with the alignment protractor, adjust tracking force and anti-skating, and check the result in a listening test – on request also with a test record.
How do I ship my records safely?
Pack the records upright and well padded in a sturdy box so that they cannot move. We are happy to give you tips on safe packing in advance.
