Complete hi-fi systems
Well thought out, elegant, great-sounding
Our complete and compact systems give you everything in one unit or set: amplifier, streaming, CD and radio – and, depending on the model, a turntable or USB connection too. Perfect for anyone who values sound quality and ease of use.
Enjoy music without the tech puzzle
Amplifier, streaming, CD and radio in one unit or a perfectly matched set.
One remote, one app – and your favourite music is playing, without tangled cables.
Electronics and speakers work in harmony – for a coherent, balanced sound.
A turntable, subwoofer or larger speakers can be added to many models.
Complete or compact system?
Both options give you a ready-made, perfectly matched system. The difference lies in the design: complete systems consist of matching separate components, such as amplifier, speakers and source unit. Compact systems are all-in-one units with built-in amplifier and player – sometimes even with built-in speakers.
| Feature | Complete system | Compact system |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Matched separate components | One unit with amplifier and sources, some with speakers |
| Space required | Several units, rack or sideboard | Very little, fits on a shelf |
| Cabling | Several connections | Minimal, often just power and speakers |
| Upgrading | Each component can be replaced individually | Via outputs and different speakers |
| Sound potential | Very high, even for large rooms | Very good for small to medium rooms |
| Ideal for | Living rooms, discerning listeners | Kitchen, office, bedroom, second system |
In between there are elegant hybrid solutions: for example a streaming amplifier with a pair of passive speakers, or active speakers with built-in amplification and streaming. Both combine a small footprint with astonishing sound.
Typical features
Which functions are on board depends on the model. You will find these features on many of our systems:
Spotify, Tidal or internet radio directly via app. Many devices support Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, AirPlay 2 or Chromecast.
CD drive, FM and DAB+ radio, digital inputs with a high-quality D/A converter and a phono input for your turntable.
Play music from a USB stick or from your own music library on your home network – depending on the model, even in hi-res quality.
High-quality speakers in the set or sturdy speaker terminals, often with subwoofer and headphone outputs as well.
Via HDMI ARC or an optical input, the system becomes a great-sounding alternative to a soundbar.
Remote control, manufacturer app and voice control depending on the model – switch on, choose a source, enjoy.
A streaming tip: Bluetooth is convenient, but usually transmits music in data-reduced form. Via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable, music reaches the system losslessly – with services such as Tidal or Qobuz even in hi-res resolution.
What matters when buying
A good complete system suits your room, your music sources and the way you listen to music. These questions will help you choose:
- —Room size & power: Wattage figures alone say little. What matters is the interplay of amplifier power, speaker efficiency and room size. A compact unit is enough for a kitchen or office, while a large living room can take larger speakers.
- —Your music sources: Do you mainly listen to streaming, CDs, radio or records? Make sure the most important sources are on board.
- —Streaming system: Check whether your preferred services and your smartphone are supported – for example via Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, AirPlay 2 or Chromecast.
- —Connections for later: A phono input, a subwoofer output or HDMI ARC keep the door open for a turntable, more bass or TV sound.
- —Placement: Speakers sound best free-standing at ear height. Models with a rear bass reflex port need some distance from the wall.
Who are compact systems ideal for?
Compact and complete systems bring good sound to places where a large hi-fi system has no room – or simply isn’t wanted.
Good sound in a stylish format, without having to work your way through components and cables.
Compact dimensions and high-quality enclosures that blend elegantly into any interior.
The ideal second system for your study, kitchen, bedroom or holiday retreat.
Switch on, choose a source, enjoy: for everyone who simply wants to listen to music.

Frequently asked questions about complete hi-fi systems
What is the difference between a complete and a compact system?
A complete system consists of matched separate components, such as amplifier, source unit and speakers. A compact system combines amplifier and player in one unit, sometimes the speakers too. Complete systems offer more scope for large rooms and later upgrades; compact systems score with a small footprint and simple operation.
Do compact systems come with speakers?
That depends on the model. Some compact systems have built-in speakers, others come as a set with matching speakers, and others are pure streaming amplifiers to which you connect speakers of your choice. The scope of delivery is given in each product description.
Can I connect a turntable?
Yes, if the system has a phono input – usually for MM cartridges. Without a phono input, you need a turntable with a built-in phono preamplifier or a separate phono preamplifier connected to a line or AUX input.
Which streaming services are supported?
That varies by model. Many devices support Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, AirPlay 2 or Chromecast as well as internet radio; others rely on the manufacturer’s own app. You will find the exact services in the respective product description.
How much power do I need for my room?
Less than often thought. What matters is room size, listening volume and speaker efficiency. For typical living rooms, a few dozen watts per channel is usually enough with speakers of normal efficiency. We will gladly advise you on your situation.
Can I connect my TV?
With many models, yes: via HDMI ARC or an optical digital input. With HDMI ARC, you can often even control the volume conveniently with your TV remote.
Can a compact system be expanded later?
Often, yes. A subwoofer output lets you add more bass, a phono input a turntable, and on units with speaker terminals you can move up to larger speakers.
Does Bluetooth sound worse than Wi-Fi streaming?
Bluetooth usually transmits music in data-reduced form. Depending on the codec, this is clearly audible or barely noticeable. Via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable, by contrast, music reaches the system losslessly – with suitable services even in hi-res. For serious listening, we therefore recommend Wi-Fi streaming.
