open headphones
Unlike closed headphones, open headphones do not have a closed design, but are open and have holes in the ear cups. This allows air to flow freely through the ear cups and noise to penetrate from outside.
Open-back headphones produce a wider and more spacious sound image than closed-back headphones and generally have a more natural sound reproduction. However, they are also less insulated, which means they are not as good at blocking out outside noise and preventing other people from being disturbed by music or other audio content.
Open-back headphones are ideal for use in quiet environments such as at home or in the studio, where accurate sound reproduction is more important than isolation from outside noise.
