Visually, they’re usually indistinguishable from new products—but their prices are significantly more attractive.
Are demo units reliable, or are they already worn out?
High-quality hi-fi components are designed to last for thousands of operating hours—the time they spend on display in a studio typically accounts for only a tiny fraction of that lifespan. Speakers are often even better than brand-new ones after a certain break-in period because the cones and surrounds have been broken in. Before sale, we check every unit for proper function, cleanliness, and, if necessary, calibration.
Do I get a warranty on bargain items and demo units?
Yes. Unless otherwise specified, you’ll receive a full warranty on all items in this category, just as you would with new products. For discontinued models and discounted new products, the full manufacturer’s warranty applies from the date of purchase. For demo units, we provide a warranty of the same duration. Can I return bargain items?
Yes, you have the same statutory right of withdrawal as you would with new items. Important to note: Since demo units and one-of-a-kind items are generally unique, the returned item will be resold according to standard practices—we may deduct costs for signs of improper handling beyond normal “inspection.” In practice, this almost never happens if the item is handled with care.
Are the devices technically inspected?
Every device undergoes a functional check before sale using the tests specified by the manufacturer—for amplifiers and sources, sound and measurement checks; for speakers, testing of all channels; and for turntables, inspection of the cartridge, tonearm, and platter. If necessary, we clean and adjust the devices. We transparently document any issues in the item description—or the device won’t be put up for sale at all.

“Discontinued model” simply means that the manufacturer has introduced a new generation—not that the previous model is inferior.
