The Reference Digital Audio 40 sets new standards in the coaxial transmission of digital S/PDIF signals and is aimed at demanding users who expect the highest signal integrity and sound fidelity.
At the heart of the cable design is a precisely developed conductor geometry that ensures a consistently stable characteristic impedance of 75 ohms - a crucial prerequisite for the low-loss transmission of digital audio signals. The silver-plated copper conductors used optimize conductivity, particularly in the high-frequency range. Reducing the negative effects of the so-called skin effect ensures that high-frequency signal components are also transmitted efficiently, thus minimizing signal losses.
Another key component is the use of specially developed Digiloc™ RCA connectors. These are precisely matched to the cable impedance and significantly reduce reflection losses compared to conventional connectors. The result is improved signal transmission with more precise microtiming and overall higher sound quality.

High-quality dielectric made from foamed polyethylene
The dielectric used is characterized by particularly low conductivity and makes a significant contribution to maintaining constant impedance. Impedance-optimized Digiloc™ RCA plugs
In contrast to conventional RCA plugs, which often do not meet the requirements of digital 75-ohm systems, the Digiloc™ plugs are precisely matched. This significantly reduces insertion losses and minimizes signal-related reflections, resulting in measurably improved signal quality.

Triple electromagnetic shielding
The elaborate shielding consists of a dense, double-guided braid of high-purity, oxygen-free copper (99.999 %) and an additional aluminum mylar foil. This three-layer construction reliably protects the signal path from external electromagnetic interference, even in environments with high current loads. At the same time, it prevents internal interference from escaping, so that neighboring analog signal transmissions are not affected.
