The multi-award winning Toslink optical digital cable from QED

The award-winning Performance Graphite Optical cable allows you to experience outstanding sound quality when connecting DACs, TVs, CD players or Blu-ray™ players to amplifiers or receivers. The Performance Optical cable uses an optical fiber made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), an acrylic glass, to transmit the high bandwidth signals that today's multi-channel digital audio connections require. The cable is specifically optimized for a very low jitter design to minimize digital errors and ensure clearer transmission of audio data.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) acrylic optical fiber
  • The new optical fiber of the Performance Graphite cable offers twice as little signal attenuation per meter compared to the previous model. This makes it possible to transmit higher bandwidth signals for multi-channel audio with ease. For HD multi-channel audio applications above 12 MHz, we recommend our Reference Optical Quartz cable.
  • Very low jitter design
  • QED has identified jitter, i.e. distortion caused by errors in light transmission, as one of the main factors in the degradation of audio quality. By using precise jacketing techniques, jitter is minimized, allowing for clearer signal transmission, better dynamics and an expanded soundstage.
  • Very low signal loss: The cable has a signal loss attenuation of less than 0.15 dB per meter.

The new, award-winning Performance Graphite optical cable uses the high-quality PMMA acrylic optical fiber, which was previously only available in our Reference product range.
The innovative optical fiber provides half the signal attenuation per meter of its predecessor, ensuring reliable transmission of the high bandwidth signals required for modern multi-channel audio streams.
The cable features a stepped refractive index core which, together with precise jacketing techniques, minimizes light absorption and mode dispersion at the fiber boundaries. This reduces the angle at which total internal reflection occurs, allowing more light rays to travel along the cable. This reduces jitter and optimizes audio transmission.
