The 300 series from Thorens enjoys unbroken popularity. But there is room for improvement. bfly-audio from Augsburg has recognized this and has quickly established an excellent reputation for its audio tuning products, especially in this area.
Using the bfly audio absorber bases for Thorens turntables saves you having to make complex and complicated changes to your favorite turntable. Nothing needs to be fitted, it is "plug & play" in the truest sense of the word.
Despite the minimal effort involved, the effect is astounding. Numerous customers confirm this again and again and the hi-fi trade press has also become aware of the bfly-audio systems. Among others, the well-known "LP Magazin"

The changes in sound are particularly noticeable in the areas of spatiality, bass and richness of detail in the reproduction. As a nice additional effect, you also get the look of a modern turntable. In short: when you use a bfly-audio XPL Base, you get a record player that performs on a par with the latest devices.
The Thorens bases consist of a base plate made of MDF and a solid (no veneer) real wood frame.
The xPL bases have integrated damping with the help of 5 highly effective absorber feet made from a mix of cork, sorbothane and natural rubber, which are permanently integrated into the top of the base
Thus, 4 of the bFly special absorbers are located under the original Thorens feet, as well as another absorber in the middle of the Thorens base plate to eliminate negative vibrations of the notoriously unstable Thorens base plate.

The base itself stands on 3 height-adjustable MLA feet, which are supplied in the xPL Pro version with an additional aluminum ring.
The new optional Pro feet have an aluminum ring on the underside that is particularly closely adapted to the absorber material. This further improves the overall effect on the reduction of horizontal vibrations, which mainly occur with room sound. This is usually generated by loudspeakers whose sound waves hit the side of the device.
