Every hi-fi component stands on a surface - and every surface vibrates. Loudspeaker vibrations, footfall noise, the rumble of the turntable motor, the mechanical vibrations of the reading and scanning systems: All of this is transmitted as structure-borne sound to chassis, circuit boards and bearings, where it becomes noticeable as noise, impurities in the mid-range or unrest in the bass in the sound image.
