The MoFi MasterPhono is an uncompromisingly developed phono preamplifier for audiophile listeners who want to get the most out of high-quality cartridges. It was conceived by legendary developer Peter Madnick, who designed the MasterPhono specifically for use with first-class MM, MC and MI systems.

Thanks to its exceptional flexibility, the MasterPhono easily handles moving magnet, moving coil and moving iron cartridges - including extremely low impedance MC systems. This is made possible by separate inputs for current and voltage amplification, which are available in balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) versions. The phono stage also offers consistently balanced and unbalanced connections on the output side. All relevant parameters can be conveniently set directly via the front panel.

A special feature are the channel-separated VU meters, which underline the developers' consistent analog claim. However, they are not only used for visual control, but also act as precise measuring instruments for cartridge adjustment. The exact azimuth setting in particular is quick, reproducible and extremely sensitive.

The MasterPhono allows the simultaneous operation of up to three pickups, which can be individually connected and tuned. While low-impedance systems are automatically terminated correctly at the current input, the voltage input offers a wide range of practical termination values. In addition, special RCA sockets allow the use of individual resistors and capacitors for maximum customization freedom.

In terms of design, the MasterPhono relies on a strictly separated two-chamber architecture. The power supply unit and amplifier section are housed in separate housing sections and are only connected by a sturdy frame. The powerful power supply unit is additionally isolated from the analog signal processing with a copper shield. The connection to the fully discrete amplifier section is made via just three electrically isolated cable channels - a consistent approach to minimizing interference.

Designed as a long-term investment, the MasterPhono is also prepared for future expansions. New functions and firmware updates can be installed via the integrated USB port as soon as they are made available by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab.

The MoFi MasterPhono is therefore aimed at discerning vinyl enthusiasts who want maximum control, technical sovereignty and uncompromising sound quality combined in a reference phono preamp.
