The Yamamoto HS-7 is the latest developed headshell and the lightest headshell from Yamamoto. It is made of Camellia wood (Tsubaki), which belongs to the tea shrub family. This type of wood has a long tradition in Japanese history and has a high value in the culture of the Japanese.
This wood has a density of 700kg/m3, which gives the headshell a weight of 8.1 grams without headshell screws. Due to the weight and density of the material, Yamamoto highly recommends the HS-7 for more lightweight systems with increased needle compliance.
The headshell has a grub screw on the bottom that can be loosened using the Allen wrench. This allows the azimuth of the pickup to be easily adjusted on the headshell.

The gold-plated screws included with the headshell, as well as the fingerling, are non-magnetic and therefore have no influence on possible magnetic fields of the pickup.
The HS-7 headshell is compatible with the TY-1 titanium finger lever.
