Martin Vatter

Martin Vatter, born on May 10, 1963, is a German pianist and composer known for his expressive and soulful piano music. Growing up in a musical home in Etting, an idyllic village between Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, his passion for music was awakened at an early age. His father played the violin and his mother was a dedicated church organist. Vatter began classical piano lessons at the age of six and gave his first public solo performance at the age of nine.

Vatter was decisively inspired by Keith Jarrett's "The Köln Concert" in 1986, which had a lasting impact on his musical style. From 1992, he performed with various jazz and new age formations and as a solo pianist, including at Munich's first jazz club "Unterfahrt" and at the Munich "Tollwood Festival".

In 1994, he produced his first solo CD "Ask the Piano" at the renowned Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg with the internationally renowned sound engineer Carlos Albrecht. This was followed by further albums such as "Be You" (1999), "Try a New Way" (2004) and "Night Impressions" (2006), all of which contain his own compositions and document his continuous musical development.
Vatter's music is characterized by a fusion of jazz and classical elements, which he interprets in an expressive, powerful and at the same time sensitive style. His compositions are diverse and reflect a broad spectrum of human emotions.
Over the course of his career, Vatter has received numerous awards. His CDs have been named audiophile highlights of the month in renowned magazines such as "AUDIO" and "STEREO". His music is also used in television programs on Bayerischer Rundfunk and on the radio.
With his solo CD "The Hope", released in 2021, Vatter wants to give courage and hope in times of crisis. The tracks have titles such as "Wonderful World" and "Life goes on" and are intended to provide listeners with relaxation and confidence.
