HiFi accessories - Connection technology
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link - and in the signal path of a hi-fi system, this is often the most inconspicuous point: the connector. Cheap RCA plugs made of inferior die-cast zinc, with an unstable fit and oxidizing contact surfaces, are a frequent but unnecessary weak point. The Dynavox carbon RCA plugs consistently address this problem: solid brass as the plug body, gold-plated contact surfaces and a characteristic carbon sleeve design that is not only visually impressive, but also ensures an exceptionally firm, low-vibration cable grip.
The RCA plug - developed in the USA by the Radio Corporation of America in the early 1940s and still the backbone of analog hi-fi connections today - deserves the same attention in high-quality systems as cables and device connections themselves. Gold-plated contacts prevent oxidation and guarantee a consistently low contact resistance; this protects signal integrity in the long term and saves on costly maintenance. The set of 4 in red/black enables the complete assembly of a stereo pair - color-correct and professionally assembled.
Carbon sleeve
Outer sleeve made of carbon for optimum cable grip, vibration damping and a high-quality appearance
Gold-plated brass
Solid brass body with gold-plated contact surfaces - corrosion-resistant and permanently signal-true
Double strain relief
Double screw strain relief reliably protects the solder joint from mechanical stress
The solid brass plug body is the key to the mechanical and electrical quality of these RCA plugs. Brass combines good electrical conductivity with high dimensional stability and is ideal as a carrier material for precision contact surfaces. The gold-plating of the contacts reliably protects against oxidation - one of the most common causes of gradual sound deterioration over time. Gold-plated contacts remain reaction-free even after years and ensure a consistently low contact resistance.
The carbon outer sleeve is more than just a visual statement. The material is naturally stiff, light and low-vibration - properties that make a tangible contribution to signal stability in the connection area between the plug and cable. Carbon grips the cable with a defined, even pressure without squeezing it - a clear advantage over soft plastic sleeves, which give way over time and encourage loose contacts.
The double screw strain relief is a design detail of great practical importance: it prevents mechanical tensile forces on the cable - caused by unintentional pulling or moving devices, for example - from acting directly on the solder joint. With simple RCA plugs, the solder joint is the weak point par excellence; here it is cleanly decoupled. The solder connection itself is generously dimensioned and easily handles cables with an outer diameter of up to approx. 6.9 mm.
Dynavox carbon RCA connectors are the ideal choice for anyone who wants to assemble their own signal cables or upgrade existing cables with defective or inferior connectors. The solder connection enables a permanently reliable, low-impedance connection to the signal conductor - with a simple work process: strip the cable, attach the sleeve, solder the inner conductor and shield, tighten the strain relief screws, done. The set is suitable for cables with an outer diameter of up to approx. 6.9 mm.
Especially in the audiophile DIY sector - when building high-quality phono cables, audio connections between preamplifiers and power amplifiers or when restoring vintage audio cables - these connectors offer excellent value for money. The color coding with red and black sleeves corresponds to the international color convention: red for the right channel (R), black for the left channel (L) - a clear orientation for assembly and later handling.
