Turntable accessories - Cartridges & stylus care
The stylus tip is the smallest but most precious contact point in the entire hi-fi chain. Only a few micrometers of diamond touch the vinyl - and this is exactly where invisible enemies gather: dust, grease, groove dust and, over time, dried deposits that stubbornly cling to the tip. A dirty stylus scans imprecisely, costs high frequency resolution and spatiality - and at the same time wears down the grooves irretrievably. The Analogis Stylus Cleaner is the simple, precise answer to this problem: a combination of alcohol-based cleaning fluid and a special brush that can do more than an ordinary brush.
The decisive difference lies in the bristles: the brush of the Analogis Stylus Cleaner is made of much firmer material than the standard brushes from nail polish bottles - those soft hair brushes that wipe away delicate impurities but fail miserably on dried layers of crust behind the needle tip. Together with the alcohol-based, antistatic cleaning fluid, the Stylus Cleaner reliably removes even stubborn deposits - and leaves behind a needle tip that glides through the groove precisely, smoothly and residue-free again. The cleaning brush is conveniently integrated directly into the screw cap - compact, ready to hand, always with you.
Tougher bristles
Also removes dried crusts behind the needle tip - where soft brushes fail
Antistatic
Alcohol-based cleaning fluid has an antistatic effect - less dust attraction after cleaning
Brush in the cap
Cleaning brush integrated directly in the screw cap - no separate accessories required
Cleaning is very simple - but the direction is crucial: the brush is only moved from back to front over the needle tip, never sideways or backwards. This direction of movement corresponds to the natural scanning movement of the needle and prevents the sensitive needle carrier (cantilever) from being strained or bent sideways. A single, smooth stroke is sufficient in most cases - the process can be repeated if the needle is heavily soiled. The needle tip must then be allowed to dry completely before a record is placed on it: Otherwise the liquid can dissolve the vinyl.
Regular cleaning - ideally before each side or at least before each listening session - noticeably reduces crackling, crackling and background noise. What settles on the diamond as a fine layer of dirt acts acoustically like a muffled curtain before resolution: trebles lose their shine, voices lose their body, the room loses its depth. A short cleaning process restores all this - in seconds.
Special care should be taken with moving coil systems (MC): The metallic edging of the brush hairs can be attracted by the strong magnets of an MC generator. Therefore, never bring the brush into contact with the system body - only touch the tip of the needle with a steady, targeted hand movement. When used correctly, the Stylus Cleaner is also suitable for high-quality MC systems without any problems.
Please also note: The cleaning fluid must only be applied to the diamond - not to the cantilever, the damper or the needle housing. The chemical ingredients can attack adhesives on the cantilever and damper materials. After cleaning, the needle must be allowed to dry completely before the plate is fitted. The liquid is highly flammable and should be kept away from naked flames.
