The Pro-Ject Stream Box DS2 T is a versatile audio device designed for modern music listening systems. It serves as a streaming bridge and allows users to play music files from their home network via a hi-fi system. The device can be integrated into a network either via LAN or WLAN. To listen to music with the Pro-Ject Stream Box DS2 T, the digital music data must be stored on a local server that is also connected to the network. This server can be a conventional PC or Mac, or specialized storage solutions such as NAS (Network Attached Storage).

In addition to the ability to stream music from the home network, the Stream Box DS2 T also offers the option of streaming music directly from the Internet. Services such as Spotify, Tidal and various radio stations via vTuner are available. The device can also play music from directly connected USB storage devices.

However, it is important to note that the Pro-Ject Stream Box DS2 T only has digital outputs and therefore requires a separate D/A converter to listen to music, as it is a pure streaming bridge. This distinguishes it from some streaming clients that already have an integrated D/A converter.
