The Rega Planar 1 Plus, a crowd favorite, is characterized by its technology, which it has adopted from the higher Planar 3 model. Particularly noteworthy is the RB 110 tonearm, which is equipped with the same high-precision bearings as the RB 330. The platter bearing, made of brass and with an optimized fit, also comes from its "big brother". A significant new feature of the Planar 1 Plus is the use of the EBLT belt, which ensures improved running smoothness.
For vinyl lovers looking for exceptional sound characteristics, this turntable is an ideal choice. It comes with a Rega Carbon MM cartridge and is part of the "Carefree Happiness Package". Although the Planar 1 Plus is the entry-level model, its revision in the 2021 version has led to significant improvements that are immediately audible. This multitude of improvements clearly sets it apart from comparable models. In terms of price, it may be considered an entry-level model, but its sonic performance surpasses this classification.

Another outstanding feature is the integrated preamplifier, which allows the Planar 1 Plus to be connected directly to the high-level inputs of a stereo system via RCA (cinch) or 3.5 mm jack cables. This eliminates the need for a separate phono amplifier if the existing system does not have a phono input. The high-quality MM phono section is based on the award-winning Fono Mini and has been further optimized in terms of playback quality for use in the Planar 1 Plus. To this end, Rega has dispensed with the USB computer interface in order to invest its resources in improving the amplifier.

The Planar 1 Plus can therefore be connected as a high-level source, similar to a CD player. A suitable cable is included in the scope of delivery. Installing the phono section directly in the turntable under the tonearm offers clear advantages. The carefully shielded tonearm cable is connected directly to the preamplifier, minimizing external interference.
