How do the Netpoint MKII differ from the original MKI series?

The MKII generation has been shipping since June 2021 and, while still based on the proven SSC String Suspension Concept fabric technology, it differs in several significant respects: the housing has been completely redesigned and acoustically optimised, an additional coupling element has been integrated, and inside, a noticeably tauter weave with a harder carrier material is at work. The result is a clearly increased effectiveness — the soundstage gains in resolution, fine dynamics and depth layering compared to the MKI models. The MKI remains in the range as a more affordable entry-level option.

Which model — Netpoint 100, 200 or 300 MKII — is right for my equipment?

The choice depends solely on the desired coupling — the damping technology is identical across all three models. The Netpoint 100 MKII has a felt top and is simply placed beneath an existing component — ideal for CD players, DACs, amplifiers or turntables without spikes. The Netpoint 200 MKII offers a threaded socket with adapters for M4, M6 and M8 — the right choice if you want to fully replace the original feet of a device or loudspeaker. The Netpoint 300 MKII has a spike cup and directly accommodates the spikes of loudspeakers, speaker stands or spike-equipped equipment.

What is the load capacity of a set of four?

A set of four Netpoint MKII reliably carries up to 60 kg — covering practically all common hi-fi components, from compact streamers and DACs through integrated amplifiers and turntables to medium-weight floorstanding loudspeakers or speaker stands. For significantly heavier equipment or particularly sensitive applications, we recommend looking into the larger SSC models such as Magicpoint or Bigpoint.

Do I need to remove my device's original feet, or can I simply place the pucks underneath?

With the Netpoint 100 MKII, simple placement is sufficient — the felt-topped puck slips between the existing equipment feet and the supporting surface, with no disassembly required. This is the fastest method and in most cases already sonically very effective. To extract the last bit of potential, the Netpoint 200 MKII allows the original feet to be removed and the pucks screwed directly to the device using the included thread adapters — the sonic gain is somewhat greater here, because the vibration paths are coupled more directly.

Which components benefit the most?

Experience — also independently documented in several trade tests — shows: turntables respond most clearly to the Netpoint MKII, because the cartridge is extremely sensitive to vibration. Tube amplifiers also benefit strongly, since glass envelopes are microphonic and react to any form of structure-borne sound. CD players, DACs and streamers show finer microdynamics and quieter backgrounds. Beneath speaker stands, in turn, the pucks deliver markedly more defined bass and more precise spatial imaging. In essence, every component benefits — the only question is where the effect is most audible.

Can the three models be mixed within the same system?

Yes — and this is in fact expressly intended. Because all Netpoint MKII share the same damping technology and are identical in build apart from the coupling, they can be freely combined. A typical setup might place Netpoint 100 MKII under source components and amplifiers, Netpoint 200 MKII bolted under speaker stands, and Netpoint 300 MKII beneath spike-equipped floorstanders. The result is a continuously decoupled system with a unified sonic signature.

Where are the Netpoint MKII manufactured, and how long is the warranty?

The SSC Netpoint MKII are manufactured entirely in Germany — all materials are produced and processed locally and quality-checked before delivery. The company SSC has been on the market with resonance dampers and equipment platforms since 1997 and is among the established specialists in this segment. The manufacturer grants a two-year warranty on each Netpoint MKII against defects in materials, construction and workmanship.

Hifi Accessories · Resonance Damping

Every hi-fi component literally stands on shaky ground. What pushes even high-priced equipment to the edge of its potential is often not missing internal parts — but the simple, often utilitarian rubber or plastic feet that separate the chassis from the rack. They couple the device to airborne and structure-borne noise, give the cabinet's own resonances no path to escape, and mix all of that into the audio signal. The SSC Netpoint MKII address precisely this: as compact, purposefully elegant resonance dampers that absorb structural vibrations through a patented fabric system, channel them, and convert them into heat — before they can colour the sound.

The MKII generation, available since June 2021, is a consistent further development of the proven Netpoint series. Inside the new, acoustically optimised aluminium housing works the original SSC® String Suspension Concept fabric technology — supplemented by an additional coupling element, a noticeably tauter weave, and a harder carrier material. The result is a clearly increased effectiveness: the soundstage becomes more relaxed and assured, resolution improves, fine dynamics and depth gain definition. Application remains as simple as can be — place the pucks beneath the device, done.

Sound & Working Principle

The Netpoint MKII work on a principle as straightforward as it is effective. Inside the anodised aluminium housing sits a double-layer, highly tensioned weave — the eponymous String Suspension Concept. As soon as the component's weight rests on the upper surface of the puck, the fabric channels this pressure downward and distributes it radially across the outer aluminium ring. There the mechanical energy is not reflected but converted to heat through material friction. Mechanically speaking, pressure becomes tensile energy — an elegant solution that doesn't merely dampen resonances but actively dissipates them.

In practice, this means: turntables play more relaxed and richer in detail, because the cartridge no longer has to fight against amplified footfall and cabinet vibrations. Tube amplifiers benefit from a more stable foundation — particularly the microphony-prone glass envelopes respond gratefully to consistent decoupling. CD players, DACs and streamers reveal finer microdynamics and a quieter black background. Even under loudspeaker stands, the Netpoint MKII unfold noticeable effect: bass becomes deeper and better differentiated, spatial imaging gains precision.

The Three Variants

Three nearly identical pucks, three different couplings — the series thus covers practically every conceivable installation scenario. The Netpoint 100 MKII carries a felt top and is simply placed beneath the device. This variant mounts particularly fast and protects sensitive equipment bottoms. The Netpoint 200 MKII features an aluminium top plate with a threaded socket — three included adapters for M4, M6 and M8 allow firm screwing to audio components or loudspeakers originally designed for spikes or standard feet. The Netpoint 300 MKII has a spike cup on top and securely receives existing spikes from loudspeakers, speaker stands or equipment.

All three variants share load capacity, diameter, damping technology and the anodised aluminium housing — available in either black or silver. The series thus blends optically into any rack concept and allows continuous outfitting across the entire system, from turntable through amplifier to loudspeakers. Within the SSC range, the Netpoint MKII positions itself as the upper mid-range — above the still available MKI models, but below the Magicpoint and Bigpoint families for even more demanding applications.

Press Reviews

The Netpoint series has been consistently recommended by the trade press since its launch. stereoplay observed of the predecessor model that a wobbly turntable equipped with the SSC pucks sounded as dry as a CD player — an image that makes the vibrational calming highly tangible. HomeVision described the pucks as an outstanding hit in terms of price-performance, with clearly audible sonic improvement. The online magazine Hifi-Today extended these observations to the MKII generation and, in an extensive listening test, attested further audible gains in resolution, spatial imaging and depth layering compared to the original Netpoint models — concluding with a clear buying recommendation.
