Brief description of the cable lug

The WBT-0681 sandwich cable lug is now available with innovative nextgen™ technology. The minimalistically designed cable lug has always been available in the two versions made of pure copper (Cu variant) or silver (Ag variant), which is the reason for its exceedingly good conductivity. In line with the idea of WBT's nextgen™ technology, the cable lug has been developed as metal-free as possible as part of this product update. As a result, an even more detailed and spacious music reproduction can be achieved.

The patented sandwich design with the correspondingly constructed contact fork is also a reason for the outstanding quality of this cable lug: magnetostrictions as well as airborne and structure-borne noise are successfully prevented by elastomer vibration dampers. In the downstream effect, disturbing background noise (contact microphonics) can be effectively reduced. In addition, the fracture resistance of the joint is optimized. The sandwich structure itself consists of an elastomer inserted in a steel cap. This design is characterized by high and uniform contact pressure and minimizes contact resistance. Precisely defined contact is established, caused by four embossed contact points on the underside of the fork. This design feature is particularly noticeable at high currents or low voltages, because the signal transfer is significantly improved. As a further production step, the surface of the copper signal conductor is directly gold-plated without nickel to protect it against oxidation.

As a connection solution to the cable, the developers have opted for crimp connection technology. By using Torx screws with fine threads, this technology creates a reliable and tension-proof connection.

The body of the connector is fully insulated and complies with CE and IEC safety requirements.
