The history of AMC

The brand name AMC was generated by a computer in 1970 and stands for "Advanced Merit Concept", which means "one step ahead" or "ahead of the others". In the 1970s, AMC developed a new amplifier topology with soft clipping, soft crossover and soft power supply. These groundbreaking innovations resulted in a super high dynamic range with low distortion, comparable to the sound quality of tube amplifiers - a huge step forward at the time. Since then, AMC has enjoyed an excellent reputation for outstanding sound quality.

Global presence and quality from Taiwan

AMC is part of Weltronics Corp. based in South Pasadena, USA. The products are developed in London and Los Angeles, while manufacturing takes place in Weltronics' own factory in Taiwan, owned by AMC founder and owner Amcli Lin. This international cooperation enables AMC to offer high-quality audiophile equipment at affordable prices.
