FORMULA
3 - LAST Factory - All-Purpose Record Cleaner record cleaning fluid

Every record collects dirt - and every speck of dust in the groove is an obstacle for the needle. The result: increased surface noise, distorted timbres and, with repeated playback, microscopic but irreversible abrasion damage to the groove structure. Even a new LP taken straight from the sleeve is not flawless - the manufacturing process leaves sticky pressing residue in the groove, which binds dust and builds up on the stylus. A good cleaning routine is therefore not a luxury, but the most important prerequisite for unadulterated vinyl sound. The LAST Factory FORMULA 3 is the consistent answer to this everyday challenge from one of the most renowned American vinyl care specialists.

The Last Factory was founded in the 1970s in the USA and has specialized in the chemical care of vinyl, needles and magnetic tape for over 45 years. The formulations are created with a scientific approach: instead of simple alcohol-water mixtures, LAST uses formulations that are specifically designed for the molecular structure of vinyl and its specific weak points. FORMULA 3 is the all-purpose cleaner in this family - developed for daily use before every play and compatible with the entire LAST care line.

FORMULA 3 removes dust, dirt and oils - including fingerprints and the unavoidable pressing residues from the vinyl pressing process, which build up sticky deposits in the groove and bind particles. The formula deliberately protects the plasticizers in the vinyl - the plasticizers that give the material its elastic structure and which can be leached out by aggressive solvents, resulting in brittle, cracked vinyl. Aqueous alcohol mixtures, such as those used by cheap cleaners, are more risky in this respect than the chemically precisely balanced LAST approach.

A key quality feature of the formula is its completely residue-free evaporation: no deposits remain on the groove that could build up on the needle or become audible the next time the record is played. This makes FORMULA 3 the only cleaning solution that LAST expressly approves for use before every single play - not just for occasional cleaning. The enclosed applicator with short, fine velour pile penetrates deep into the groove structure and effectively removes dirt particles from the groove.

FORMULA 3 is part of a well thought-out, coordinated care system. The right sequence is crucial: first clean, then preserve.

The tonal effect of a clean groove is immediately audible: the background noise is noticeably reduced, voices appear more precisely located in the room and the fine overtones of an instrument - precisely the area that gives a sound its texture and atmosphere - emerge more clearly. The trade magazine Positive Feedback attested to the LAST All-Purpose Cleaner's significantly calmer presentation, more precise stereo graduation and better resolved spatial imaging after treatment. Audiophile legend Michael Fremer has been recommending LAST for over 25 years. The measurement documented in Stereophile shows a reduction in high-frequency IM distortion of almost 10 dB after treatment with Formula 2 in combination with Formula 3.

For optimum use of FORMULA 3, three drops per side, evenly distributed over the applicator, are sufficient. Cleaning is completed with two passes over the panel - the liquid evaporates in seconds without leaving any residue. The applicator velour can be rinsed out and reused if necessary. In combination with FORMULA 2, you receive the complete cleaning and preservation system at an attractive special price.
