XRCD - high-end sound in the classic CD format
The XRCD (Extended Resolution Compact Disc) was developed by JVC Japan to overcome the limitations of the standard CD - without changing the format itself. High-quality mastering, digital signal processing with low jitter and precisely controlled pressing result in a clearly audible sound gain.
What distinguishes the XRCD?
- 24-bit mastering on high-quality studio technology
- Noise and jitter-reduced signal path thanks to specially controlled production process
- CD standard compatible - no special hardware required
- Available as XRCD, XRCD2 and XRCD24
Who is XRCD suitable for?
XRCDs are the perfect choice for music lovers who want to get the most out of their CD player - without having to rely on SACD- or HDCD-compatible devices. Particularly popular for jazz, classical and acoustic recordings, but also for selected rock productions in the audiophile sector.
