Acoustic Sounds
Audiophile records from America
The American music label Acoustic Sounds has been known for over 20 years for its careful and unique vinyl pressings. The medium-sized company from Kansas offers blues, pop and rock, classical music, jazz, world music and much more.
Recently, Acoustic Sounds has secured the rights to RCA's legendary Living Stereo series. Owner Chad Kassem started out with a small store for audiophile freaks, initially selling equipment and 45 rpm records to his clientele.
Today, the label is number one in the audiophile reissue market. Acoustic Sounds always has an open ear for the wishes of its customers. In the jazz sector, the company can boast the cult labels Impulse, Verve and Blue-Note.
The company's latest pride and joy is the so-called Quality Pressing Audio. The first record to be produced by hand using this process is Cat Stevens' "Tea for Tillerman". Recordings by Freddie King, Muddy Waters and Ben Webster can also be ordered in quality pressing.
Current records can also be found in the Acoustic Sounds catalog. The highly acclaimed debut album by Adele "21" is among them, as are Robert Plant & Alison Kraus' "Raising Sands", for example.
The records are available in 180 g, 200 g and 210 g material thicknesses and will raise the pulse rate of any fan of black records. The vinyl box sets also leave nothing to be desired and contain classics such as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, the Stones, classical works such as Wagner's "Walküre" and John Coltrane from the jazz genre. The original recording tapes are used and transferred to the vinyl discs via a pressing plant.
Sound quality and authenticity are the top priorities for Chad Kassem and his team. Fans report recordings that they have never heard before; you can almost hear the artists breathing as they work.
Another method developed by Acoustic Sounds is direct-to-disc recording. The range now includes twenty 180 gram vinyl discs that are recorded directly onto the record.
This label is highly recommended for acoustic enthusiasts. The company philosophy of lovers for lovers is consistently pursued and it will be interesting to see which treasures Acoustic Sounds will bring back to life.
And the beat goes on!
