Various Records

Diverse Records

The Welsh label Diverse Records originates from the subsidiary Diverse Vinyl, the largest English seller of records. Since its foundation in 1995, the company has limited itself to the sale of dance music records. The range has been expanded over the years and Diverse Vinyl has discovered a clear affinity for audiophile pressing.

This affinity led to the founding of the house label Diverse Records. None other than Ray Staff, who had cut classic LPs by David Bowie, Supertramp and the Stones, was engaged as vinyl master.

Diverse Records does not specialize in any particular style or genre of music, but has dedicated itself entirely to the production of lovingly crafted 180 gram records. Several prizes from the international trade press, such as the "Hi Fi Plus" award, are the reward for the label's efforts.

The first vinyl record produced by Diverse Records , New Favourite, was the result of a collaboration between bluegrass singer Alison Krauss and Union Station. True to the company's motto, the growing catalog includes such diverse styles and artists as Joan Baez, the Cowboy Junkies, Mark Olson, Dr. John & Lower 911 and Frank Black & The Catholics. During the pressing process, care is taken to ensure that at least 500 units are available. The finished product then undergoes several test runs and is only released for the market when both the technicians and the artist are absolutely satisfied with the work. The cover design and the quality of the packaging are also taken into account.
