Sheffield Lab
Sheffield Lab
Sheffield Lab has a long history as a label. They have already won various awards for the audiophile sound of their LPs and CDs. The recordings are as realistic as possible and vary from pop, jazz rock to classical music.
Sheffield Lab has been pressing outstanding recordings on vinyl for over 40 years. Sheffield uses the disc-to-disc process, in which only original tapes are used and transferred directly to vinyl.
Some of the most famous artists from Los Angeles have remained loyal to the label due to its unique variety of sounds. Bill Schee, Larry Brown, Al Schmidt and George Massenberg are some of the talented men who have worked for Sheffield as engineers and technicians. Company founder Doug Sax contributed classical recordings by the Los Angeles and Moscow Philharmonic Orchestras to the label from sunny California.
Over the years, new engineers and sound tinkerers added pop, rock and jazz recordings to the in-house catalog. History continues... with fine recordings from the forge of Sheffield Lab Records.
