Sundazed Records
Sundazed Records
If you're looking for rare recordings from the 1950s to the 1970s, you've come to the right place with Sundazed Records.
The company was founded in 1989 by the married couple Bob and Mary Irwin in New York. In addition to sixties rock, surf music, psychedelic and garage rock, the range also includes soul, blues and jazz. Bob Irwin made a name for himself in the scene as an excellent restorer of old vinyl recordings. Because of this reputation, Sony entrusted him with the re-release of archive recordings under the name Legacy Records.
The first releases on the Sundazed Records label were the Knickerbockers and the five Americans, due to Irwin's love of garage rock and surf music. This was followed by recordings by the Turtels, The Challengers, Liverpool Five and many others.
The company also secured the rights to the funk group The Meters and brought their entire catalog onto the market remastered on vinyl and CD. There are now over 332 different LPs in the company's own store.
For lovers of colored discs, there is also a wide range on offer, which is rounded off by beautiful box sets. Two classics of live concert recordings made by a certain Johnny Cash between 1968 and 1969 in the Folsom and San Quentin prisons even open up the Sundazed Records program to the country sector.
