Reema - One For Sorrow, Two For Joy [One Step]

After the great success of "The LowSwing Sessions" and "Memories Fade To Tape", which were voted albums of the month and year by many specialist and music magazines and are also highly appreciated by the audiophile community for their sound and music quality, "One For Sorrow, Two For Joy" is now being released with ten new original songs by British artist Reema. For the recordings of this sensational album, Reema has teamed up with two outstanding musicians: Dan Hemmer, one of the world's best Hammond players, known for his role in the trio "Blicher Hemmer Gadd" (with Michael Blicher and Steve Gadd) and Tilo Weber (drums and percussion), winner of the "German Jazz Award 2022". Other musicians include Haggai Cohen-Milo on double bass and bass guitar and Guy Sternberg on the Moog "Minimoog" synthesizer.

Miles Davis Quintet - The Complete Live In Paris Vol. I

The Lost Recordings releases the first part of the legendary concert recorded on October 11, 1960 at the Olympia by Miles Davis and his quartet, together with saxophonist Sonny Stitt: "Miles Davis Quintet - The Complete Live In Paris Vol. I". On that October evening at the Olympia, the celebrated Davis was back without Coltrane. The saxophonist who was now in the band was a much better fit for Davis' vision: the extraordinary Sonny Stitt, the "lone wolf". Together with Jamaican pianist Wynton Kelly, whom Davis had hired in 1959, double bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Jimmy Cobb, they formed a cohesive group full of musicality, offering an ideal blend of understated strength and discreet intelligence.

The Original American Folk Blues Festival - Live In Paris 1962, Bremen 1963

Frédéric Doria-Nicolas, one of the treasure hunters of the French label "The Lost Recordings", discovered a recording of Sonny Boy Williamson - alone on stage, from 1963 - in the radio archives on a trip to Bremen. The quality of the recording not only swept him away musically - it was worthy of a high-end performance! A few months later, the label also found the original tapes of another incredible concert from 1962 in Stockholm. "The Lost Recordings" is proud to have tracked down the lost performances of these blues gods - 1962 at the Olympia in Paris and 1963 at the Stadttheater in Bremen - and to now be releasing them for the first time in the form of a double UltraHighQualityCD

Santana - Moonflower

Although it may seem strange today, "Moonflower" was Santana's first and only live record released in the USA for almost 15 years. This is despite the fact that around half of the double album consists of new studio recordings, including a spicy cover version of the Zombies classic "She's Not There", which made it into the top 30 of the singles charts. As unconventional as the "split" strategy was, it was extremely well received. "Moonflower" reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 and went double platinum - a success that the group was unable to repeat for 22 years. The high musical quality of the program is one of the reasons why the 1977 album is considered a "must-have Santana" by critics and fans alike. "Moonflower" is a triumph, as the album represents a greatest-hits collection up to 1977.

Rick James - Street Songs

Top of the American R&B album charts for 20 weeks, platinum award, Grammy nomination and over 5 million records sold to date: "Street Songs", Rick James' album first released in April 1981, breaks all records! "Punk funk" was a relatively unknown concept before 1981, but with James' fifth album it became a fixed term and trademark of the New York singer, songwriter and music producer. True to the album's title, "Street Songs" combines blunt sexuality, brash attitudes and edgy commentary with infectious arrangements that target the emotions, hips and head at the same time.

Donovan - The Hurdy Gurdy Man

Although Donovan had already captivated the world with hits like "Sunshine Superman", a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966, and "Mellow Yellow", a No. 2 hit in December of the same year, it is "The Hurdy Gurdy Man" that became the benchmark of the psychedelic era. First released in the fall of 1968, the album artfully captures the essence of the moment with a remarkably fresh, intelligent and stylistic approach to songwriting. The inimitable blend of rock, pop, drone, folk, world and jazz, coupled with deeper psychological undertones, make "The Hurdy Gurdy Man" one of the great classics of music history.

Patricia Barber - Modern Cool

"Modern Cool" by Patricia Barber is one of those audiophile classics that you don't really need to say much more about. Jim Anderson's breathtakingly detailed and natural recording as well as the mastery of Barber's compositions and performance make this album a must-have for any ambitious record collection. "Modern Cool" is based on a high-gloss production, no question. Nevertheless, it differs from most albums by her famous jazz colleagues. "Modern Cool" never comes across as over-candid or polished - Barber's approach has too many rough edges for that, and her fellow musicians are given the necessary freedom to breathe life into the songs.

Dan Fogelberg - Souvenirs (50th Anniversary)

Dan Fogelberg is still regarded as one of the most influential American singer-songwriters in recent US music history. Almost all critics and especially his loyal fan base agree on this. Fogelberg, who was discovered by Irving Azoff, later manager of the Eagles and REO Speedwagon, played as a session musician in the early seventies and with artists such as Van Morrison, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles and Jackson Browne. "Souvenirs", his second album as a solo artist, produced by guitarist Joe Walsh, finally gave him his longed-for breakthrough in 1974 and made him a star overnight.

William Skeen - The Six Cello Suites of J.S. Bach

William Skeen - The Six Cello Suites of J.S. Bach

The six suites for solo cello are often regarded as Bach's greatest masterpieces and are a highlight of the baroque cello repertoire. Countless artists have already tackled these works - more or less substantially. Now William Skeen, one of the world's leading baroque cellists, takes on the material. Skeen is a soloist with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Voices Of Music and was principal cellist of the American Bach Soloists for almost two decades. He is a founding member of the New Esterházy Quartet, the Cantata Collective and La Monica. Skeen taught baroque cello and viola da gamba at the University of Southern California for two decades and has twice been nominated for a Grammy for previous albums.

Antiphone Blues [One Step]

Antiphone Blues [One Step]

"Antiphone Blues" is a title that really needs no introduction. Originally recorded in 1975 by the Proprius label in a Stockholm church and released with the catalog number PROP 7744, the work has since been reissued in numerous versions and should now be in the repertoire of every audiophile music collector. Fabio Camorani from the Italian label AudioNautes Recordings also loves the warm, incredibly realistic sound of the recording. When his copy of the original LP wore out over time and he couldn't find a replacement with a satisfactory sound among the available remasters, he decided to give himself a present and venture a reissue on his own label. Released in 2017, the AudioNautes LP version of "Antiphone Blues" was highly praised by critics and music lovers and quickly became a bestseller.

Recorded on a Revox A-77 tape machine and with just two Pearl TC4 microphones, the 1976 recordings offer the highest degree of spatial information and naturalness.

Ernest Ansermet & Orchestre de la Suisse Romande - Mussorgsky : Pictures at an Exhibition

Between November 1 and 7, 1959 and April 18 and 21 of the same year, two memorable concert recordings took place in the famous "Victoria Hall" in Geneva: Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" was recorded in late spring and Liszt's "Battle of the Huns" in winter - both works with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and under the baton of the Swiss conductor Ernest Ansermet. Ansermet, who had a deep artistic friendship with Igor Stravinsky, became concert director of the Kursaal Montreux in 1912 before taking over the Ballets Russes.

Felix Ayo & I Musici - Vivaldi : Le quattro stagioni

We don't want to run the risk of boring the reader with opinions, insights, figures, dates and facts about Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". Everything there is to say about this work has already been said. And yet, three centuries after the Venetian violinist and Roman Catholic priest composed his most important work, there are still no signs of fatigue - neither among the musicians nor among experts and consumers. The famous Italian ensemble I Musici, which has recorded over 130 albums for Philips and DECCA since its inception, has also devoted itself to the Italian composer's works on several occasions - with impressive results: to date, their recordings of Antonio Vivaldi's works have sold over 10 million (!) records.

Harvey Mason – Changing Partners: Trios 2

Harvey Mason - Changing Partners: Trios 2

When the term "super drummer" is mentioned, the name Harvey Mason is never far away. The Grammy-nominated American composer and pianist is one of the busiest studio and live drummers in the world: The Notorious B.I.G., Carlos Santana, Barbra Streisand, James Brown, Henry Mancini, Sérgio Mendes, the London Symphony Orchestra and many other musicians have called upon the skills of this exceptional talent. As a former member of Herbie Hancock's band Headhunters, for whom he co-wrote the hit "Chameleon", and co-founder of the contemporary jazz group Fourplay, Mason initiated a project with various trio formations that was frenetically acclaimed by fans and the specialist media: "Changing Partners: Trios".

Rosa Passos & Ron Carter - Entre Amigos

Rosa Passos & Ron Carter - Entre Amigos

"Entre Amigos" is much sought-after among audiophile record collectors. This is not only due to the excellent sound of this recording. The album was critically acclaimed and the LP version has been out of print since 2010. Even though most of the tracks on "Entre Amigos" were penned by bossa nova father Jobim and songs such as "Insensatez", "Desafinado" and "Garota De Ipanema" have been covered thousands of times, the collaboration between Brazilian singer Rosa Passo and jazz bassist legend Ron Carter is not the usual bossa fare.

Mr. Big - Mr. Big [One Step]

Mr. Big - Mr. Big [One Step]

In 1989 Billy Sheehan, one of the best bass players in hard rock, and Paul Gilbert, guitarist of Racer X, got together to form a new band in Los Angeles: Mr. Big! Thanks to his work with Steve Vai and David Lee Roth (Van Halen), Sheehan was clear about the musical direction he wanted his new project to take. However, he was still missing the right band members, which he finally found in singer Eric Martin and Pat Torpey (drums). The rest is history: the four signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and immediately went into the studio.
