Hi-fi bases
Solid sound foundations for your audio components
A high-quality hi-fi base is the foundation for the best possible sound. It minimises vibrations, damps interference and lets your equipment reach its full potential. Whether turntable, amplifier or DAC – with a suitable turntable base or audio platform, you create ideal conditions for precise, interference-free music reproduction.
The foundation of your sound
Fewer resonances mean more dynamics, detail and space in the sound.
Turntables, valve amplifiers, DACs or streamers – they all benefit.
Solid wood, slate, acrylic or sandwich construction with a damping core.
From classic-elegant to modern-minimalist – to suit your living space.
Less vibration – more music
Especially in analogue playback, vibration decoupling is a critical factor. The cartridge traces excursions in the micrometre range – every external vibration that reaches the turntable through the furniture is traced along with the music and ends up in the signal. A turntable base reduces footfall noise, structure-borne noise and micro-resonances. The result: more calm, dynamics and detail. Valve amplifiers and sensitive digital sources also benefit noticeably from a low-vibration base.
Footsteps, doors and floors in older buildings transmit vibrations through the furniture directly to your equipment.
The speakers themselves set the rack and furniture vibrating – especially with powerful bass.
Motors, transformers and fans generate vibrations that are transmitted to the device and its surroundings.
Couple or decouple?
When setting up hi-fi components, there are two proven philosophies – many bases cleverly combine both approaches:
| Feature | Coupling | Decoupling |
|---|---|---|
| Principle | Drain vibrations away in a controlled way | Stop vibrations from getting through at all |
| Typical solution | Spikes, cones, heavy solid slabs | Dampers, elastomers, rubber or gel feet |
| Effect | Firm, defined footprint without wobble | Separates device and surface from each other |
| Ideal with | Stable surfaces, heavy equipment | Springy floors, light furniture, turntables |
What matters is the interplay: a base with high mass and internal damping absorbs resonances, while the right feet determine how it connects to the surface.
Materials & their effect
Our range offers carefully selected hi-fi bases and audio platforms from renowned manufacturers. They impress with excellent workmanship and well-thought-out materials:
Natural, warm and with pronounced internal damping – a classic that also looks homely.
High mass and natural self-damping make natural stone a particularly calm base.
Modern, precisely made and visually light – especially popular in the analogue world.
Several layers with a damping core break up resonances between the layers and ensure great calm.
Finding the right base
Our audio platforms are available as standalone bases or as modular additions to existing hi-fi racks. Many models are height-adjustable and come with spikes, dampers or rubber feet – for perfect adaptation to room and equipment. Here is what to look out for:
- —Dimensions: The base should be slightly larger than your device’s footprint – all feet must rest securely.
- —Load capacity: Check the weight of your component. Dampers in particular only work optimally within a certain weight range.
- —Level alignment: Essential for turntables – height-adjustable feet and a spirit level make exact adjustment easy.
- —Surface: On springy wooden floors or light furniture, decoupling is usually more important than on a solid stone floor.
- —One device per base: Avoid stacking devices on top of each other where possible – each component benefits from its own calm footprint.
Design meets acoustics
Of course, looks matter too. Our hi-fi bases combine acoustic function with timeless design – from classic-elegant to modern-minimalist. They complement existing furniture or set deliberate accents in your living space.
For the turntable as the calm centre of the analogue chain – on the sideboard or in the rack.
For amplifiers, valve equipment, DACs and streamers – matched to the size of your components.
As an extra shelf or upgrade for your existing hi-fi rack.

Frequently asked questions about hi-fi bases
Does a hi-fi base really make an audible difference?
In many cases, yes – especially with turntables, valve amplifiers and on springy floors or light furniture. Typical results are a quieter background, more defined bass and finer detail. How big the difference is depends on the equipment, furniture and room.
Spikes or dampers – which is better?
That depends on the surface and the device. Spikes couple and provide a firm, defined footprint; dampers decouple the device from the surface. On springy floors and for turntables, decoupling is often the better choice.
What size should my base be?
The base should be slightly larger than your device’s footprint so that all feet rest securely. Measure the width and depth of your component and compare them with the base’s dimensions.
What do I need to consider regarding load capacity?
Every base, and every damper in particular, is designed for a specific weight range. If the device is too light or too heavy, the dampers will not work optimally. You will find the details in the respective product description.
How do I level my turntable?
Most easily with a height-adjustable base or adjustable feet and a small spirit level on the platter. Exactly level placement is important for even tracking and correct tracking force.
Can I put a base in my existing rack?
Yes. Many audio platforms are expressly designed as additions to existing racks. Check the dimensions of the rack shelf and the height to the next shelf.
Which material is best?
There is no single best material. Solid wood, slate, acrylic and sandwich constructions each have their own strengths. What matters is the interplay with device and surface – and, of course, which look you like.
Are hi-fi bases also suitable for speakers?
Hi-fi bases are mainly intended for equipment such as turntables, amplifiers and sources. For speakers there are dedicated stands, absorbers and speaker bases. We will gladly advise you on the right solution.
Make no compromises on the foundation of your music: rely on quality, stability and sonic clarity.
