Spikes
HiFi spikes are used to decouple speakers and audio components from their base, helping to minimize unwanted floor resonance and improve sound accuracy. They reduce the contact area between the device and the floor, dissipating vibrations and enabling clearer sound reproduction. Unlike absorbers, which directly absorb vibrations and convert them into heat, spikes dissipate these vibrations without completely damping them.
Absorbers, on the other hand, are designed to absorb vibrations directly and thus prevent the transmission of interference to the device or the floor. While spikes primarily offer a stable position and reduction of resonances, absorbers focus on preventing and damping vibrations. Both components improve sound quality, but they do so in different ways, depending on whether the vibrations are to be dissipated or absorbed.
