• DAC Box S2+ - Digital Analog Converter - black - Pro-Ject

The Pro-Ject DAC Box S2+ represents a remarkable combination of high-quality technology and affordable price that is unparalleled in the world of D/A converters. This device stands out from its competitors not only because of its sonic quality, but also because of its extensive features.
One of the most outstanding features of the DAC Box S2+ is the asynchronous USB transfer, which supports resolutions up to 32Bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD256. These impressive specifications guarantee an exceptionally detailed and clear reproduction of digital audio files.
The DAC Box S2+ also offers five selectable filter characteristics, allowing users to customize the sound to their personal preferences. This flexibility is particularly attractive for audiophiles who enjoy different music genres and prefer specific sound profiles for each.
In addition to USB transmission, the DAC Box S2+ has an optical and a coaxial digital input, which enable easy integration into existing hi-fi systems. This makes it possible to connect various digital sources and thus take full advantage of the device's versatility.
Another highlight is the use of the ESS Sabre ESS9038 chip, which is known for its outstanding performance and sound quality. This high-quality chip makes a significant contribution to the DAC Box S2+ sounding far above its price class.
The fact that the DAC Box S2+ is "Roon Tested" also speaks for its quality. Roon is a renowned software for music playback and management that is characterized by its high level of compatibility and user-friendliness. A device labeled "Roon Tested" guarantees optimal compatibility and performance with this software.
For power, the DAC Box S2+ uses an external power supply, which helps to minimize interference in the signal path and further improve sound quality.

It is important to note that the DAC Box S2+ does not support bitstream formats such as Dolby Digital® or DTS®. This should be taken into account when selecting audio sources.

The Pro-Ject DAC Box S2+ is an excellent example of how high-quality audio technology can be offered at an affordable price. With its impressive technical features and sonic performance, it is a clear recommendation for anyone looking for a high-quality D/A converter. However, as with all audio equipment, the personal listening experience is irreplaceable, so a visit to a Pro-Ject dealer is recommended to experience the quality of the DAC Box S2+ for yourself.
