01 · Delivery times

When will my order arrive?

Sourcing records and CDs is complex. So that you always know where you stand, we show the delivery time on every item as precisely as possible. Our focus is on audiophile records and CDs – in close cooperation with Sieveking Sound, whose stock is shown in the shop on a daily basis.

For items not in stock, a direct stock check isn’t possible while you order. We check availability immediately afterwards and inform you without delay.

How to read the delivery time: The colour of the delivery van icon on the item matches the colour of the dot in the table.

Several items, not all in stock? Here’s how we ship

For orders of records and CDs where not all items are in stock, we proceed as follows:

1	Shipped together As a rule, we first reorder missing items so we can send your order in one parcel wherever possible.

2	Immediate partial shipment if the wait is longer If we see right away that an item will take longer, we send you the available items straight away as a partial shipment.

3	Automatic check every 14 days Every 14 days, our system automatically checks whether a further partial shipment can be sent on its way.

Amethyst Stylus - Replacement needle - Sumiko

Needle insertion for the Sumiko Amethyst

Dynamic needle compliance, lateral: 12μm*
Scanning diamond: line-contact cut, naked (r/R 5 x 20μm)
Contact force: 2g
* Needle compliance measured at 100Hz

Upgrading Sumiko MM cartridges
MM cartridges from Sumiko can be upgraded particularly easily: The upgrade is carried out solely by replacing the stylus insert. A major advantage of this concept is that all upgradeable models are operated with identical tracking force. No readjustments to the tonearm or cartridge are therefore necessary after changing the stylus.
The cartridge bodies (generators) of the Black Pearl and Pearl models are identical. Replacing the standard Black Pearl stylus with a Pearl stylus therefore results in a complete upgrade to the sound level of the Pearl.
From the Rainier to Amethyst model series, however, it is not only the needle inserts that differ, but also the generators. A detailed description of these differences can be found in a technical report by Bernhard Rietschel in LowBeats magazine.

The sonic advantages of higher quality styli
As the quality level increases, the cartridges benefit from several design improvements that have a direct effect on the sound performance. These include, among others

lighter styli with better impulse behavior,
naked set diamonds ("nude") instead of set stones,
higher quality needle cuts and
more precise polishing of the diamond, either along or across the crystal structure.

These measures reduce moving mass, improve the scanning capability and lead to a significantly increased resolution, dynamics and fine detail in the sound image.

Upgrade levels of the stereo needle inserts

Rainier
Single stylus with elliptical diamond cut (r/R 8 × 18 µm)
Olympia
Better selected scanning diamond, elliptical cut (r/R 8 × 18 µm)
Moonstone
Lighter aluminum needle carrier, elliptical diamond cut (r/R 8 × 18 µm)
Wellfleet
Naked mounted ("nude") diamond with elliptical cut (r/R 8 × 18 µm)
Amethyst
Nude mounted diamond with high-quality line-contact cut (r/R 5 × 20 µm)

Optional shellac stylus

The RS78 stylus is optionally available for the MM cartridges in the Rainier to Amethyst series. This has a spherical stylus (R 76 µm) and is specially designed for the gentle and correct reproduction of shellac records.
