Tacet
Classic audiophile pressings by Tacet from Stuttgart - Made in Germany - pressed by Pallas
This is how Tacet describes itself and its vinyl program:
The heyday of the vinyl record was in the late 50s and 60s. And it is still enjoying growing popularity, even again. One of the reasons for this is
- the analog uniqueness of each individual serial copy
- the warm and vital sound
- the actual material used with its optical properties
- historical interest and certain nostalgic feelings
All records (LPs) currently available from Tacet are produced using the "Tube Only" technology developed by TACET. Only tube microphones, tube tape recorders, tube amplifiers and tube record cutting machines are used. This is unique in this elaborate use of analog equipment. The actual cutting is done by hand using scissors and adhesive tape. The most important microphones used were also from that time. For example, the "U47" was developed by Neumann in 1947, the "M49" in 1949.
The many V72 amplifiers and components of the M10 tape machine also date back to the heyday of the long-playing record. Each LP offered by Tacet appears as a 180 gram variant with lots of interesting information and photos.
Many verbal comments and letters about Tacet tube-only productions testify to the high quality of Tacet products. This motivates Tacet not to let this technology fall into oblivion and to work with it from time to time. Tacet was told that the music sounded warmer without losing any of the TACET brilliance. The timbres had something that could be described as "glowing". There is also talk of a "more homogeneous" sound impression, whatever one might mean by that. It is up to each customer and friend of this technology to interpret these impressions for themselves.
