Music Matters

Music Matters Records

Ladies and gentlemen, what you hear this evening, is a special recording for blue note records. The name Blue Note enjoys absolute cult status among connoisseurs and is home to the greatest artists in jazz.
Musicmattersjazz has set itself the task of re-releasing these masterful recordings on 45 rpm. The former producers Alfred Lion, the legendary photographer Francis Wolff, who was responsible for the characteristic Blue Note designs, and engineer Rudy van Gelder, later successful himself with his own label CTR Records, stand for high-end recording of the absolute top class.

The Blue Note label was founded almost seventy years ago. In 2005, after negotiations with EMI, who had the rights to Blue Note, the first tests with 180 gram vinyl recordings began. In 2007, they were so impressed with the technology that they went into production to do justice to the best jazz recordings of all time. Special care was taken to ensure that the original cover art could be reproduced down to the smallest detail.
The artwork of the fifties and sixties meets the digital age. All photos and covers were polished to a high gloss using a specially developed process. After only a short time, these records have already achieved the highest collector's value. Timeless jazz classics in 180 gram vinyl pressing from the masters of the genre.
Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman from Acoustech Mastering, who had already celebrated great success with the reissue of Prestige/Riverside recordings, were involved in this process.

The list of Blue Note artists is incredibly long! A few examples: Horace Silver, Wayne Shorter, Grant Green, Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd. The vinyl runs out of every pore of the fan!
