Original Jazz Classics

The reissue label "Original Jazz Classics" - OJC

The reissue of timeless and unique jazz pieces is what Fantasy Records has been committed to with its music label "Original Jazz Classics" since 1982.
All jazz recordings that have ever been released on Fantasy labels such as Milestone Records, Riverside Records, Jazzland, Pablo Records, Galaxy Records, Prestige Records, Contemporary Records and Debut Records are now being reissued. Most of these titles have not been available for years.
Jazz lovers will be particularly pleased that the LPs not only feature the original covers, but some also come with additional original background information, the original liner notes, in the LP sleeve.

The tracks have been remastered and most of the albums contain bonus tracks, some of which have never been heard before. The catalog now comprises over 1000 titles (CD section) and includes many of the great names in jazz history.
The most important artists represented - according to the number of clicks on the Original Jazz Classics website - are Cannonball Adderley, Chet Baker, Count Basie, Tony Bennett & Bill Evans, George Benson, Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Miles Davis Quintet, Eric Dolphy, Duke Ellington, Duke Ellington And His Orchestra, Bill Evans, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Vince Guaraldi, Vince Guaraldi Trio, Coleman Hawkins, Barney Kessel, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Thelonious Monk, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Parker, Joe Pass, Art Pepper, Oscar Peterson, Sonny Rollins, Mongo Santamaria, Cal Tjader and McCoy Tyner.

In November 2010, 5 new CD albums will be released, with an even more refined sound, mastered in 24-bit, including "Waltz for Debbie" by the Bill Evans Trio, the band's last album, which was recorded shortly before the accidental death of bassist Scott LaFaro. Or the album "Dig" by Miles Davis, featuring Sonny Rollins from 1951, an example of the newly emerging "hard bop". The Vince Garaldi Trio is represented with "Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus",
Jazz samba at its finest. "It could happen to you" is the title of Chet Baker's album, which delights the ears of jazz fans with four bonus tracks. Wes Montgomery's "Boss Guitar", in which he is supported by drummer Jimmy Cobb, is jazzy to funky. The albums are available as CD or mp3 downloads, some defy the digital age and are presented as classic long-playing records.
