Hifi Magazine / Forum - Date Link / Award

Reference

"...finely resolving, musical and with a transparency on every listener,
that none of the other candidates in the test could surpass. (...) with or
or without USB, the best transistor headphone amplifier that has been
played at AUDIO since the start of the test series."
Sound Image

"...capable of massively upgrading the sound from
your computer music collection."

Reference

"The richness of detail, the musical flow and the tonal neutrality of the Black
Cube Linear are so breathtaking that it is now stereoplay's
reference."
Hi-Fi news

"It measures well and delivers unusually clear insight
into the 'how?' and 'why?' aspects of music making,
not just the 'what? All the hi-fi virtues are there but
it's the manner in which the Black Cube draws you
into a musical performance that marks it out from the
crowd. A fine sound at a great price. Lehmann's Black
Cube Linear also scores with its fabulously low distortion.
Noise is vanishingly low too, sufficient to raise an A-wtd S/N ratio
of 99dB in its +10dB gain mode. This is 20dB ahead of the PS Audio amp
tested two years ago! These figures, together with its maximum output of
9V and input overload of 6.1V, suggest the Black Cube Linear is as near a
bomb-proof solution as you'll find"

"...The flat Cologne speaker pumps so much drive, power and audibility
into the ears of pretty much every listener, so much so that the fact that
that built-in headphone amplifiers are usually a nice extra, but still
only makeshift solutions, is made frighteningly clear."

Head-Fi

"The initial reaction I had when I first listened to music with this amp using
my HD-650s was "Wow!" I was - and continue to be - quite impressed
with this solid state amp. (...) If your budget is EUR700 or above, you must
absolutely listen to this amp, even if you are prepared to spend more than
that..."

Lehmann Audio Reference Headphone Amplifier

The Linear has long been THE device for amplifying sound signals for professional listening with headphones. Many professionals worldwide use the Linear as the device of choice. Be it in the studio or in the home hi-fi chain. For example, Westdeutscher Rundfunk, the Tacet label or Aeolus, as well as well-known manufacturers such as Ortofon, Sennheiser or Van den Hul use the Linear to balance their systems.
The Linear certainly belongs to the reference class of headphone amplifiers. And this at a very moderate price. Only the very best components find their way into this high-end device produced in Germany. It impresses with a very balanced and open sound image that is able to reproduce even the smallest detail.
The sophisticated circuit architecture allows three optical amplification settings to address a wide variety of headphones and sound sources. You can even use the Linear to address active loudspeakers if desired.
Two parallel outputs on a discrete Class A transistor stage can simultaneously drive two headphones of the same impedance without the slightest loss of sound quality. When a second pair of headphones is connected, the line output is automatically switched off.

Since 2004, the Linear headphone amplifier has been bringing common headphone models to their best performance. This top model enjoys the trust of discerning users - from Westdeutscher Rundfunk to the audiophile label TACET and the headphone specialists at Sennheiser and AKG. The Linear is a reference in its class for good reason.
With the headphones on your ears and your favorite CD in the player, the Linear creates impressive worlds of sound. It offers full-bodied, rich bass and a fine resolution that allows your favorite tracks to unfold in all their glory across the entire frequency spectrum. Carefully selected components and a sophisticated circuit architecture form the foundation of this market leader.

The Linear performs masterfully in every situation. By offering three gain settings, it adapts seamlessly to your needs and enables an impressive listening experience with a variety of headphones and different sound sources. We have taken into account the different power requirements and efficiencies of headphone types on the market.
If you want to share the high-quality music experience with your family and friends, our award-winning Linear is the ideal choice. It can play two sets of headphones simultaneously without compromising on sound quality. This is made possible by the two parallel outputs of the discrete Class A transistor output stage.
In addition, the Linear can also enliven your active loudspeakers with astonishing vitality if you wish. It offers fabulous sound in every situation, always aiming for perfection - that's Lehmann's promise with the Linear.

You too can rely on the qualities of the Lehmann Linear. You won't miss any other headphone amplifier.
