Hi-Fi Accessories · Speaker Cables
Speaker cables are the final leg of the signal path — and often the most underestimated. An undersized cross-section weakens bass control, poor insulation dulls the high frequencies, and inferior connectors audibly cost information over the years. The Dynavox Perfect Sound Speaker Cable addresses all of these points head-on, offering a depth of construction rarely seen at this price point.
What sets the Perfect Sound apart is its twin configuration: each polarity is carried by two separate conductors of 2.5 mm² each, running in parallel — yielding an effective cross-section of 5 mm² per polarity. Each individual conductor consists of 50 fine strands of 0.25 mm, drawn from high-purity OFC copper (99.99%) and embedded in low-loss polyethylene. The result is a cable that couples even powerful tube and solid-state amplifiers to the speakers across several metres without meaningful signal loss. Factory-terminated as a stereo pair at 2 × 3 m, fitted with gold-plated banana plugs — ready to connect straight out of the box.

The guiding principle of the Perfect Sound is grounded in solid physics: the lower the DC resistance of a speaker cable, the more precisely the amplifier can control the driver — especially in the bass, where high currents flow and the impedance minima of the speakers further tax the amp. A 2.5 mm² cross-section is generally regarded as the lower threshold for audiophile applications. Dynavox goes one step further with the Perfect Sound and doubles this cross-section via a parallel second conductor per pole. Cable resistance drops measurably over longer runs — a tangible and audible advantage, particularly on 3-metre connections feeding 4-ohm speakers.
The conductor material is oxygen-free copper (OFC) at 99.99% purity. The advantage over standard electrolytic copper lies in the manufacturing process: by avoiding oxygen inclusions, fewer crystal boundaries form within the conductor lattice, and the cable remains oxidation-stable even after years in the system. Each of the four conductors comprises 50 fine strands of 0.25 mm — a highly flexible construction that keeps the cable manageable to route despite its overall 12 mm diameter.
Insulation is handled by low-loss polyethylene (PE), supplemented by an additional PE support element that keeps the cable geometry permanently stable. PE inherently exhibits a very low dielectric loss factor — crucial for detail retrieval in the upper frequency range, where inferior dielectrics measurably absorb energy. Outer protection is provided by a robust nylon braided jacket in black and red, which not only gives the cable its distinctive appearance but also effectively armours it against abrasion, kinks and the tangle of cables behind any well-used rack.
Sonically, the Perfect Sound delivers precisely what one expects from a generously dimensioned OFC cable: the bass arrives controlled and well-contoured, because the amplifier can drive the cone without meaningful voltage drop along the run. The midrange stays free of that slightly smeared veil which undersized cables tend to leave behind on complex material. And in the high-frequency range, the low-loss PE insulation helps ensure that fine detail — the attack of a cymbal, the air around a voice — is transmitted cleanly.
The Perfect Sound suits a broad field of use: from audiophile stereo setups with integrated amplifier and floorstanding speakers through to home cinema systems running an AV receiver. The gold-plated banana plugs fit every common speaker terminal with a 4 mm opening and provide a fast, oxidation-resistant connection — no stripping, no tightening down loose strands, no cold solder joints developing over time. Anyone planning to move up to bi-wiring later will find the Dynavox an excellent basis: two pairs run in parallel deliver clean, separated drive to the woofer and tweeter sections of the loudspeaker.
Behind Dynavox stands the German Sintron Distribution GmbH in Iffezheim, which has consistently pursued the guiding principle of "good Hi-Fi at affordable prices" for over two decades. The portfolio now encompasses more than 250 products across audio, from turntables and tube amplifiers through to the complete cable range. That this approach works is borne out by the regular positive response from the trade press.
The editorial team at hifitest.de rated the Perfect Sound with a score of 1.2 ("very good") and emphasised that Hi-Fi and home-cinema enthusiasts should not settle for less than 2.5 mm² of cross-section in speaker cables — in the case of the Perfect Sound, the double-conductor construction even yields 5 mm² per individual leg. Their verdict: "first-class workmanship" and "an absolute buy recommendation". The editors at Lautsprecherkabel-Test likewise crowned the cable as price-performance winner among the pre-terminated candidates tested, explicitly praising the clean workmanship of nylon braid, shrink-tube transitions and banana-plug termination.
Within the Dynavox cable hierarchy, the Perfect Sound positions itself as the universally deployable entry point into audiophile cabling. Ranked above it is the Dynavox High-End Speaker Cable with coaxial sandwich shielding, nitrogen-injected dielectric and exchangeable plugs — for listeners prepared to invest more deeply. For the great majority of well-equipped Hi-Fi and home-cinema systems, however, the Perfect Sound hits the sweet spot of material, workmanship, appearance and price.
