Manueller Plattenspieler RPM 3 Carbon ohne Tonabnehmer – glänzend weiss - Pro-Ject
The "little one" with the long arm
The unit is equipped with a 10-inch tonearm, which is rather unusual in this price range. The longer arm reduces the tracking angle error again compared to a tonearm with a length of 9 inches and therefore further minimizes sampling distortion.
The RPM 3 Carbon is the consistent evolutionary further development of the RPM concept: A low-resonance chassis provides space for an inverted platter bearing, which is mounted on a solid metal block for mechanical damping and mass centering, and whose ceramic ball ensures virtually rumble-free operation. The drive motor, which stands freely in the chassis, prevents motor vibrations from being transmitted to the chassis. A precision generator with DC power supply drives the 15-volt synchronous motor. This ultra-clean power supply for the motor ensures superior smoothness, and the motor control with a frequency accuracy of ±0.001%, provides very good synchronization.
The new design of the S-shaped 10" tonearm uses a material mix of carbon fiber, aluminum and synthetic resin for the tonearm tube. A very complex three-step process with heat treatments under 100 bar high pressure results in superior rigidity, highest internal damping and low resonance. A magnetic antiskating and a TPE*-damped counterweight are among the other highlights that make the RPM 3 Carbon a stylish sonic wonder!
The medium-weight tonearm made of a carbon fiber/aluminum composite is perfectly suited for MM, MC cartridges and for Ortofon SPU N MC cartridges with 1/2-inch headshell mount.
The inverted platter bearing with a ceramic running ball ensures excellent rumble values.
Drive
Surface of the chassis in high-gloss black, white and red
Manual speed selection between 33 and 45 rpm
The chassis made of compressed wood fibers stands on two aluminum cones mechanically damped with a rubber element and a spike mounted on the metal block that supports the bearing axle and acts as a mechanical diode
The resonance-optimized turntable is a sandwich construction of a finely balanced platter made of compressed wood fibers and a flat-ground platter made of vinyl record material.
An optional satin-finished acrylic platter makes the player even more elegant.
Free-standing motor in the chassis avoids the transmission of vibrations
The inverted platter bearing consists of a sintered bronze bushing in which a stainless steel axle of high fitting accuracy rotates against a ceramic track ball. The bearing is mounted in a metal block for mechanical damping, which couples hard to the platter via a metal spike.
Integrated motor control (sine wave generator)
Outsourced power supply to protect against mechanical and electromagnetic interference
A dust cover made of transparent plexiglass is available as an accessory
Pro-Ject 10cc-s tonearm
S-shaped 10-inch tonearm
