Absolute High End

The two models of the Pro-Ject Signature line differ in their features and in the size of the chassis. The Pro-Ject Signature 10 model is also available as a SuperPack. SuperPacks differ from standard units by having a factory-mounted cartridge. The number in the model name indicates the length of the installed tonearm. Signature tonearms from Pro-Ject Audio are used in lengths of 10 and 12 inches.

The Pro-Ject Signature 12 is not equipped with a cartridge at the factory. Music lovers who have multiple stereo cartridges or an additional mono cartridge that are played alternately will appreciate the removable headshell with an SME-standard bayonet. Mounted on different headshells, changing the cartridge is a matter of seconds. The single-point bearing tonearm is a good playing partner for MM, MC cartridges and for Ortofon SPU N type MC cartridges with headshell mounting according to 1/2-inch standard. Its length of 12 inches reduces the tracking angle error again compared to a tonearm with 9 or 10 inches length. Sampling distortion is thus further minimized. As an alternative to the included headshell, Ortofon SPU tone boxes can also be mounted.

An immense mechanical effort ensures absolute smoothness and the most precise adherence to the target speed: The bearing axle of the platter bearing and the tonearm are mounted on a metal subchassis, which is decoupled from the chassis below with a layer of Sorbothane®. Two microprocessor-controlled motors drive a flywheel rotating on an inverted ceramic bearing, which turns the 10.5kg TPE-damped platter. An inverted, magnetically assisted platter bearing with ceramic treads provides rumble values close to the measurement limit. Two repulsing neodymium magnets significantly reduce the weight load of the platter on the bearing. This significantly improves the smooth running of the bearing. A record puck improves the contact between the record and the platter. Magnetic fields in the unit's feet provide effective mechanical decoupling of the complete player from interference.

Exquisite veneers in olive, mahogany, rosewood and walnut root wood as well as a lacquer finish in black piano lacquer make the player an elegant appearance.

Drive

• Surface of the chassis in black piano lacquer or veneered and high-gloss lacquered in mahogany, olive and rosewood and walnut root wood or satin lacquered in walnut root wood
• Electronic speed selection between 33 and 45 rpm. Fine adjustment (pitch control)
• The chassis made of compressed wood fibers stands on four magnetic field feet
• The resonance-optimized turntable is a sandwich construction consisting of a polished aluminum platter damped with TPE, a flat-ground platter made of vinyl record material and a record puck
• The inverted, magnetically assisted platter bearing and the likewise inverted bearing for the flywheel consist of a stationary stainless steel axle with a ceramic ball on which a bushing with a ceramic bearing base rotates
• The two drive motors are micro-processor controlled
• Outsourced power supply to protect against mechanical and electromagnetic interference

Pro-Ject Signature 12 tonearm

• S-shaped, single-point bearing 12-inch tonearm with headshell mounting to SME standard
Two-piece counterweight for cartridges from 4.5 to 23g (when using the included headshell) Weight included
• The headshell can be rotated after loosening a screw. This allows horizontal (azimuth) adjustment of the pickup
• The tonearm base offers an adjustment of the vertical pickup angle (VTA)
A 5-pin tonearm standard socket makes it possible to connect individual phono cables
• A tonearm cable Connect it / 5P-CC (unbalanced cable) or a Connect it / 5P-XLR-CC (balanced cable) with a length of 123cm is included in delivery

Connection

• Phono input on the amplifier or on the external phono preamplifier
