Innovative technology and high-precision manufacturing
We have once again used the most advanced manufacturing methods and materials to produce the Planar 10 in order to achieve superior performance from an extremely lightweight chassis. Inspired by the top-of-the-line Rega Naiad, the Planar 10 is a completely new design that incorporates key features of the Naiad at a significantly lower price. By using exotic materials, the mass has been further reduced and the rigidity improved, resulting in the highest sound quality.

New solutions for the platter bearing, sub-platter, motor and drive ensure an even more constant speed and refined sound characteristics. The Planar 10 is equipped with the new RB3000 tonearm, which offers increased strength with an innovative, very lightweight bearing. In addition, a ceramic upper counter bearing is used for the first time, which guarantees enormous rigidity and precision and enables an ideal coupling between arm and bearing. Last but not least, this completely newly developed turntable is powered by our best electronic power supply unit, the P10 PSU, which is housed in a high-quality metal casing to match the other Rega devices.

Product features

• Ultra-light chassis
  The Planar 10 is the third Rega turntable with the innovative ultra-light "Tancast 8" PU foam core. This material, originally developed for the aviation industry, is embedded on both sides in an HPL (high pressure laminated) hard fabric. This extremely rigid coating makes the chassis around 30% lighter than its predecessor, the RP10, while increasing its strength.
• "Double Brace" technology
  The extremely lightweight chassis is equipped with an upper reinforcement made of ceramic and a lower reinforcement made of phenolic resin. This structure minimizes energy absorption and prevents unwanted resonances, thereby eliminating distortion. At the same time, the low overall weight reduces unwanted vibrations and optimizes sound reproduction.
• RB3000 tonearm
  The RB3000 tonearm was developed to reduce mechanical transitions to a minimum. Manufactured with the highest precision and without adhesive joints, it has a new type of precision vertical bearing with an accuracy of less than a thousandth of a millimeter. This enables the arm to move absolutely smoothly, so that even minimal groove deflections of less than a micrometer can be accurately recorded.
• Precision disk bearing
  The Planar 10 uses a new low mass main bearing. The one-piece aluminum sub platter with hardened steel axle runs in a special brass bushing embedded in the chassis. This design minimizes energy transfer from the platter to the chassis and ensures smooth running.
• Ceramic platter with flywheel effect
  The platter of the Planar 10 is pressed from high-quality ceramic oxide powder, fired and then polished with diamond. This precision manufacturing guarantees an excellent surface and perfect coupling to the sub-platter, ensuring smooth, low-vibration running.
• High-precision 24-volt synchronous motor
  The Planar 10's low-vibration 24-volt synchronous motor is based on the technology of the Naiad model. Its special mounting optimally isolates vibrations and minimizes mechanical stress. Together with the new EBLT drive belt, this design enables an exceptionally constant speed.
• EBLT Reference drive belt
  After three years of development work, the new drive belt offers improved elasticity and dimensional accuracy. Manufactured with a special rubber compound and calibrated on precision machines, it ensures superior synchronization stability.
• P10 power supply unit (PSU)
  The external P10 PSU offers advanced electronics with electronic speed switching, anti-vibration control and fine speed adjustment. The integrated digital signal processor (DSP) generates a perfectly sinusoidal control signal from a high-precision quartz oscillator. This ensures optimum motor control and smooth running.
• Cover hood
  The outer frame of the previous model has been replaced by an elegant, one-piece and removable cover, further optimizing the overall weight.
