BARBER PATRICIA - Higher (2LP/180g/45rpm)
Customer returns—Both LPs were exchanged for new ones; unsealed; seam split (approx. 3.5 cm) on the top cover
"Higher," Patricia Barber’s eleventh studio album, begins with the song cycle "Angels, Birds, and I," which she wrote for classical singers, jazz performers, and instrumentalists alike. For Barber, the eight tracks mark the culmination of a process during which she developed her own harmonic system that is no longer subject to any limitations. In addition, she presents three of her arrangements of songs from the Great American Songbook, which have been celebrated in her live performances. She is accompanied by her longtime collaborators Patrick Mulcahy (bass), John Deitemeyer (drums), and Neal Alger (guitar).
For the recording at Studio 5 of the Chicago Recording Company, Patricia Barber once again enlisted the help of multiple Grammy-winning sound engineer Jim Anderson—with whom she has a successful working relationship—and his colleague Ulrike Schwarz. Mastering was handled by the equally renowned Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering.
We recommend using “L’Art du Son” LP cleaner for wet cleaning your vinyl. Even new, high-quality records will benefit from this process.
