ÖRSTED-PEDERSEN - Dancing On The Tables (180g)
Audiophile 180 gram pressing by Steeple Chase
Örsted Pedersen is considered one of the most influential, musical and innovative bassists in Europe. He was able to create his very own sound
sound; a sound that was not copied, but had gone to international jazz school and learned and developed independence
and then convincingly offered his own, an Örsted Pedersen sound world.
Like Mingus, Örsted-Pedersen also led his trios and quartets from the bass, composed and arranged and was able to unite an international musical elite at his side in his projects.
On "Dancing On The Tables" we hear house drummer Billy Hart, who also worked with Örsted Pedersen in the trio context. David Liebman, sideman with Miles Davis in the seventies, plays the cans, tenor and soprano sax and alto flute. And we hear a young Scofield on the six-string. He may be young, but he's already washed in all the musical waters. The band harmonizes superbly, they obviously had no problems agreeing on styles and meeting and inspiring each other in song.
"Dancing On The Tables" is an Örsted Pedersen classic and a classic of European jazz.
