In the Irish multi-instrumentalist Simon O’Reilly, Luka Bloom seems to have found the perfect counterpart to his own relaxed songwriting-style. O’Reilly’s musical vocabulary harmonizes perfectly with the warm substantial sound of Luka’s timbre. For the first time, the singer/songwriter concentrates almost exclusively on his singing, there are only two tracks in which also his guitar-playing can be heard. "For once in my life I got to simply be a singer", he jubilates. “Tribe” is a complex album between pastel-coloured sounds (Tribe), creaky celtic backbeats (Change) and political statements (Lebanon, Homeless). This is a work that in its coherence is up-to-date and timeless at the same time and as a consequence has the potential to become a classic in the Bloom’s oeuvre.
