DOORS THE - The Soft Parade (200g/45rpm)
audiophile 200 gram reissue from Quality Pressing (Acoustic Sounds) as 45 rpm edition - 2LP set
Two songs from "Soft Parade" were described by Rolling Stone as gems of a string/brass arrangement to the sonorous baritone of Jim Morrison, "Touch Me" and "Follow Me Down". The signature Doors sound has been described as pure, solid and, above all, particularly recognizable within rock music, which was undoubtedly due to Morrison's energy - yet the rest of the Doors were equally responsible. Ray Manzarek contributed virtuoso keyboard soundscapes, Krieger bold, expressive, intricate guitar playing and Densmore rich, dynamic drum grooves.
Half of the songs on "Soft Parade", the Doors' fourth LP, were written by Morrison, the other half by Krieger. "Touch Me" became one of the Doors' most popular singles. Released in December 1968, it reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Cashbox Top 100 in early 1969, the band's third U.S. No. 1 single.
Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings proudly announce all six studio LPs - "The Doors", "Strange Days", "Waiting For The Sun", "Soft Parade", "Morrison Hotel" and "L.A. Woman" - on 200g / 45rpm. All vinyls were cut by Doug Sax from the original analog master tapes, except for "The Doors", which was mastered from the best available tape copy.
Truly an authentic reissue project where the original recordings were made with tube equipment, the tape recorder for playing the master tapes is a tube machine and the cutting system is likewise: tubes throughout!
