DOORS THE - Strange Days (200g/45rpm)
Ominous, beguiling ... these were the words critics used to describe the melodic, cross-genre sound of the psychedelic era of the Doors. A mixture of blues, Asian influences, classical music and pop fueled hits such as the bluesy "Love Me Two Times" or "People Are Strange" on the Doors' second album, "Strange Days".
"Strange Days" consists of slightly nervous recitations ("Horse Latitudes") as well as numbers for smoky rock bars ("My Eyes Have Seen You"). Morrison's slogan "We want the world, and we want it now!" from the demanding, overlong track "When the Music's Over" was a touchstone for the counterculture movement of the era. Rolling Stone described "Strange Days" as having "all the power and energy of the first LP, but (it's) more subtle, more complex and much more effective".
Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings proudly announce all six studio LPs - "The Doors", "Strange Days", "Waiting For The Sun", "Soft Parade", "Morrison Hotel" and "L.A. Woman" - on 200g / 45rpm. All vinyls were cut by Doug Sax from the original analog master tapes, except for "The Doors", which was mastered from the best available tape copy.
Truly an authentic reissue project, where the original recordings were made with tube equipment, the tape machine to play the master tapes is a tube machine and the cutting system is likewise: tubes throughout!
It's no time to mope - the Doors now on Analogue Productions!
