VAUGHAN STEVIE RAY - Soul To Soul (2LP/200g/45rpm)
Analogue Productions' 45rpm reissue of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Soul To Soul" is every bit as good as its companions at the same higher rpm - "Texas Flood" and "Couldn't Stand The Weather" - truly representing what Gregg Geller, producer and A&R representative has described as "the best re-cut of the master tapes to date".
Analogue Productions already released the 33 1/3rpm box set titled "Texas Hurricane", which is the greatest tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan ever reissued - six classic Vaughan albums remastered for the ultimate blues and guitar fanatic. Now we've gone one step further and produced 45rpm versions of these three outstanding LPs.
We have used the original analog 30 inch/sec. analog master tapes of these three albums. Ryan K. Smith of Sterling Sound cut the lacquer foils for these LPs using the latest generation VMS 80 cutting machine. Gary Salstrom electroplated the lacquer foils and the vinyl pressing was of course done by Quality Record Pressings.
The myth-making around Stevie Ray Vaughan was already complete by the time he released his third record in three years in October 1985. But no one would have expected the artistic leaps and musical evolution that the guitarist showcased on "Soul To Soul", a record for which Vaughan hired a full-time keyboard player and saxophonist and dove deep into the musical wellsprings of his birth state for motifs of soul, R&B and surf. Vaughan wrote four of the ten tracks on "Soul to Soul" himself; two songs were released as singles. The album reached No. 34 on the Billboard 200 chart and the music video for "Change It" was regularly shown on MTV. Not a single link in this chain is not absolutely first class, the best money can buy.
But beyond that, we have put our passion into this project. Acoustic Sounds is a big fan of the blues and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Working on this project has been a big dream come true and we have put all our ambition into making these records look and sound as good as possible.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner for wet washing your vinyl. New records from high-quality production will also benefit from this.
