SANATANA - SANTANA III (140g)
The third studio album by the Latin rock band Santana is also the last with the legendary Woodstock band with Carlos Santana, organist Gregg Rolie, drummer Michael Schrieve, bassist David Brown and conga player Michael Carabello. They were joined by the young guitar virtuoso Neal Schon, who was discovered by band members at the age of 15 in a club in Palo Alto, and percussionist Thomas 'Coke' Escovedo, who stood in for the ill Chepito Areas. The three-piece percussion team with cymbals, congas, drums, tambourine, vibraphone and the new discovery Schon fit in perfectly with the existing band. Santana III (also known as The Third Album) is musical chemistry with a perfect ending, which is unjustly overshadowed by its predecessor Abraxas.
The remastering by Paul Stubblebine for Mobile Fidelity breathes new warmth and is of breathtaking naturalness. The deep stage and extensive dynamics leave no audiophile wishes unfulfilled. Santana III belongs in every vinyl collection. The 140g vinyl LP is released in a limited edition with a consecutive serial number in a gatefold sleeve.
