LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA THE - Espana (180g)
In terms of sound, this record belongs to the crème de la crème and is one of the best-sounding DECCA recordings ever. The sound of this outstanding recording (1956/57) will astonish any unprepared listener. Because what storms out of the loudspeakers here makes the listener immediately feel the thrilling breath of the music. The London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ataúlfo Argenta performs with a vitality that has rarely been achieved. The musicians play with soul, zest and vitality, with precision and transparency.
The selection of works is a mixture of Spanish music, most of which, interestingly enough, was written by non-Spaniards; an absolutely successful compilation. All in all, this is a legendary, brilliant recording, which already caused a sensation as a mono version and in the FFSS version must still be counted among the very best that has ever been pressed on record.
This Speakers Corner production was made using analog master tape and mastering 100% pure analog. More information at www.pure-analogue.com. All licenses and GEMA fees have been paid.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner for wet cleaning your vinyl. New records from high-quality production will also benefit from this.
