• ATH-AWAS - Premium Dynamic Headphones - Closed - Audio Technica

Audio-Technica's ATH-AWAS headphones are truly premium headphones for audiophiles. Its housing is made of rare Asada Zakura (Japanese Cherry), a bright red wood known for its fine-drawing acoustic properties and resilience. These characteristics make it an ideal material for high-end speakers, as well as for the ATH-AWAS headphones.
The grain and beauty of the wood are further accentuated by the hand-applied satin finish. These headphones feature exclusive 53mm drivers with a powerful magnetic circuit, pure iron yoke, Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) coated diaphragm, and voice coils with high purity 6N-OFC oxygen-free copper coil wire. These features ensure premium audio reproduction across the frequency spectrum.

The exclusively developed "Double Air Damping" system (D.A.D.S.) divides the cabinet structure into two acoustically separated chambers, resulting in particularly pleasant, accurate bass reproduction. The housing support arm is made of a lightweight, highly rigid magnesium alloy and, thanks to its angled position, ensures a first-class fit and excellent isolation properties. The ear pads and headband are covered in soft leatherette for optimal wearing comfort.
Another highlight of the ATH-AWAS headphones are the A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) connectors, which allow for a secure connection with the two included interchangeable 3m cables. One cable has a gold-plated 6.3mm stereo jack plug for use with standard audio equipment, while the other has a balanced, 4-pin XLRM connector for use with the latest high-resolution digital audio players, as well as better channel separation.

Speaking of high-resolution audio playback, Hi-Res Audio is a term that refers to higher resolution audio recordings. Unlike the standard 44.1 kHz / 16-bit resolution of an audio CD, Hi-Res Audio can provide 96 kHz / 24-bit resolution or higher. This allows for greater detail and sound quality. Audio-Technica's ATH-AWAS headphones are specifically optimized for Hi-Res Audio playback and meet the Hi-Res Audio standard for headphones with a transducer frequency of at least 40 kHz. With these headphones, you can experience music at its highest quality and fully immerse yourself in the world of audio playback.
