Service - Record washing & sealing
Vinyl only sounds as good as the condition of the grooves allows. Even well-maintained records accumulate invisible impurities deep in the microgroove valleys over time - dust, pressing residues, fingerprints, oxidized particles - which lead to crackling, hissing and premature stylus wear. This service combines professional deep cleaning on the Clearaudio Double Matrix Professional with a subsequent sealing using the proven LAST Formula 2 Record Preservative - two steps that turn a tired record back into a fresh sounding experience and protect the grooves in the long term.
Before treatment, each record is visually inspected under special light to assess its condition and degree of soiling. After cleaning and sealing, the record is optionally inserted into a new coated inner sleeve, which has an antistatic effect and reliably prevents re-contamination in the storage area. The entire process is standardized and reproducible - every panel receives the same careful treatment, regardless of its age or initial condition.
Vacuum deep cleaning
Clearaudio Double Matrix Professional - double-sided cleaning with complete vacuum extraction, no risk of drying
Molecular sealing
LAST Formula 2 diffuses approx. 10 molecular layers deep into the vinyl - protects up to 200 plays

Step 1 - Professional vacuum wash
The Clearaudio Double Matrix Professional is one of the most renowned vacuum record washing machines on the market. It cleans both sides of the record at the same time: cleaning fluid is applied to the rotating record, worked into the grooves and then completely sucked out by vacuum - including all dissolved dirt and particle residues. Unlike methods with self-drying or compressed air blowers, this guarantees that no residues remain in the grooves, which would make the next cleaning necessary as new deposits after drying.
The cleaning fluid dissolves organic and inorganic impurities, press residues from production and oxidized particles that have become deeply embedded in the groove structures. The result: a record that not only appears superficially clean, but whose grooves are actually free of anything that could contaminate the sound and stylus. In most cases, the difference in playback is immediately audible - less crackling, black silence in the pauses, more dynamics and depth in the sound.
Step 2 - Sealing with LAST Formula 2
A look at the physics of the scanning process shows that cleaning alone is not everything: the diamond of the stylus moves at high speed through the narrow vinyl groove, creating a pressure wave in front of it and leaving minimal marks due to friction and micro-heat each time it is played - even on the cleanest record. After 10 to 20 plays, an untreated groove will show the first signs of wear and deposits under the microscope.
This is exactly where the LAST Formula 2 Record Preservative comes in. Developed in Livermore, California since 1979, the formula chemically diffuses into the uppermost molecular layers of the vinyl - around ten layers deep - where it bonds permanently with the surface. The result is not an applied film, but a structural change in the groove surface itself: more resistant to the mechanical stresses of the diamond, less susceptible to static electricity, quieter in the background. Manufacturers and independent testers confirm: the protection lasts for at least 200 plays, the record sounds fresher and quieter than without treatment. In terms of sound, users report a more relaxed, clearer sound - with more micro details and livelier dynamics.
Important: LAST Formula 2 leaves no residue on the record surface and is not absorbed by the needle diamond. It is completely neutral to the sound of the original material - it protects without discoloring. The treatment should be repeated after approx. 100-200 plays for regularly used records to maintain the protective effect.
The process is straightforward:
