The tonearm is an essential component of a record player and has a significant influence on its sound quality. Through extensive listening tests with different bearing types, materials and cartridges, we have developed the desired sound.
About 15 years ago we introduced the Evolution tonearm range, which has been very successful. With this experience we have been able to further improve our tonearm design. The new EVO tonearm range is the result of years of development and we are pleased to offer new finishes and numerous improvements.
The bearing
The new EVO tonearm is equipped with an inverted cardanic ABEC 7 precision bearing with 4 stainless steel tips. This bearing is particularly stable and low-friction, which enables precise tracking. The result is a detailed and clear sound stage. All the micro-information of the record groove is retained. The bearing is housed in a solid aluminum housing, which ensures stability. The open outer ring minimizes resonances. The maintenance-free bearing design allows for easy adjustment.
Tonearm tube and internal cabling
The tonearm tube of the EVO CC is made from a single piece of carbon fiber, which is both light and strong. It has a conical shape to avoid standing waves and reflections. The arm tube can be rotated for easy azimuth adjustment. The internal wiring is made of flexible, high-purity copper, which is an optimal conductor for the weak phono signal. Each cable is fitted with a gold-plated terminal.
Tracking force and VTA
We supply two counterweights with each tonearm so that a wide range of cartridges can be used and the tracking force can be precisely adjusted. The counterweight should be positioned as close as possible to the bearing block to ensure maximum stability and minimum inertia. Select the counterweight that is closest to the bearing block at the set tracking force.
The weight range of the cartridges for each tonearm length is indicated on the last page. The new counterweight is equipped with TPE damping to reduce unwanted resonances.
The tonearm height can be infinitely adjusted by loosening the two grub screws. This enables optimum adjustment of the tonearm to differences in height in order to always achieve the best sound quality. Adjusting the VTA and azimuth is crucial to get the maximum performance out of your cartridges.
