Design of the V5 Elektra: The latest IsoTek voltage optimizer
The V5 Elektra is the latest model from IsoTek and impresses with six independent outputs, each with a dedicated filter network. Measuring 450mm wide, 350mm deep and 106mm high, the V5 Elektra is compact yet powerful. It offers two independent high current outputs suitable for all types of amplifiers. These outputs utilize a two-stage filter network consisting of a choke and a double Pi filter. The remaining four outputs are specifically designed for source devices and feature independent six-stage delta filter networks. These networks provide nearly 20 dB of current optimization at 1 kHz (reference 600 ohms) and improve to nearly 40 dB at 10 kHz, which is ten times higher than the recommended standard.

In addition, five independent filter stages are placed between each output, combined with IsoTek's adaptive gating system, which is twice the size of the EVO3 Aquarius. This design eliminates cross-contamination of push-pull interference between the individual outlets. The V5 Elektra thus comprises six independent filter networks in one device, making it superior to most power filters that have interconnected, series-connected outlets. These conventional filters allow push-pull interference to overlap from one outlet to the next, a problem that is completely avoided by the V5 Elektra's independent filter designs.

By drastically reducing both push-pull and common-mode interference and minimizing cross-contamination of connected components, the V5 Elektra offers superior performance. Its electrical architecture and design meet IsoTek's high standards for fit-for-purpose design. The V5 Elektra's printed circuit board (PCB) uses twice the amount of copper compared to the industry standard and is also silver plated. This improves current capability and reduces resistance. Critical, customized components have lower tolerances and inductances, which improves current handling.

The new circuit design of the V5 Elektra offers twice the inductance and 40% more current compared to the EVO3 Aquarius. This results in a more open sound staging, improved microdynamics and more detailed timing. The direct current resistance (DCR) has been drastically improved to bring performance closer to the zero-ohm ideal. These technological advances allow the V5 Elektra to deliver an absolute output of 10 A, with a higher transient output of almost 16 A. The KERP© (Kirchhoff's Equal Resistance Path) technology ensures equal resistance and equal power output to all sockets. The internal cabling of the V5 Elektra is of the highest quality and uses a unique 2mm design of pure 6N oxygen-free copper conductor strands that are silver plated. An aerospace grade fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) dielectric protects the conductors and provides an ideal dielectric for the internal power supply system.

A sequential protection system of up to 67,500 A safely protects your valuable equipment from power surges and voltage spikes. The V5 Elektra also features a System Link connection, which allows the existing six outlets to be extended while retaining the star ground wiring and requiring only one wall socket for the entire system.
